Case 1: Regulus Black snatches a book from a Gryffindor student.

In the common room, James Potter sat with the Marauders, brainstorming ways to keep the Slytherins from constantly provoking them. Just as they were coming up with nothing new, Lily Evans entered, looking particularly annoyed.

"What's up with you?" James asked, a bit too eagerly.

Lily huffed. "Regulus Black just grabbed my book and walked off. He's so irritating."

James, ever the opportunist, smirked. "Leave this to me."

He found Regulus in the library, looking smugly at the book he'd stolen from Lily. Without hesitation, James slid into the seat across from him.

"You know, if you wanted my attention, you could've just asked," James said, leaning back casually.

Regulus blinked, clearly taken aback. "What?"

James grinned. "I mean, all this stealing, provoking... It's a bit obvious, isn't it?"

Regulus narrowed his eyes, caught between confusion and irritation. "What are you talking about, Potter?"

"You, me, this undeniable tension," James continued, winking. "If you're not going to return the book, at least say we'll get dinner after."

Regulus, completely thrown off, stood up abruptly, leaving the book behind. His face turned slightly pink, and he muttered something before storming off.

Sirius, who had been watching from a distance, nearly choked from laughing so hard.

Case 2: Severus Snape tries to insult Remus Lupin in Potions.

Severus Snape was glaring at Remus from across the potions classroom. "Lupin, you're looking particularly shabby today. Did you forget how to wash your robes, or is it just your usual poor taste?"

Remus, usually calm and non-confrontational, glanced at the Marauders for guidance. James shrugged and Sirius nudged him. "Do it," Sirius whispered, grinning wickedly.

Remus turned back to Severus, and with an exaggerated sigh, said, "You're always so observant, Severus. But honestly, if you spent half as much time admiring yourself as you do me, you'd be irresistible."

The room went silent. Severus' face twisted in confusion, unsure whether he was being mocked or flirted with. His glare deepened, but he had no immediate comeback.

"Take a picture next time," Sirius added from behind Remus, snickering.

Case 3: James and Regulus are caught in a confrontation after Quidditch practice.

The Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams were walking off the pitch, tension brewing after another heated practice. Regulus Black had been making sly comments, trying to provoke James, who was leading his team with that signature cocky grin.

"I could beat you anytime," Regulus said under his breath as they crossed paths. "You only win because you play dirty."

James turned to him, eyes gleaming. "Play dirty? Reg, if you wanted to spend more time with me, all you had to do was ask."

Regulus' eyes widened, taken aback by the boldness of the comment. "What?"

James leaned in, his voice teasing. "If you're going to flirt, at least buy me dinner first. I don't come cheap."

Sirius, overhearing the exchange from the back, burst out laughing. "Oh, this is priceless!" he shouted, clapping James on the back.

Regulus turned bright red, muttering something under his breath before swiftly walking away, leaving the rest of the Slytherins staring in confusion.
