Beep bee-

Richie slammed his hand down hard onto his alarm clock and groaned tiredly.
He rolled back onto his back and rubbed his eyes.

Five more minutes... He thought, snuggling back into the comfort of his light gray blanket and dozed back off into sleep.

-

"RICHARD!" Richie practically jumped out of bed at the sound of his mothers angry voice and he could hear her footsteps charging up the stairs.
He darted his eyes to his clock, which read, 8:25am.

"Shit!" He muttered under his breath and quickly reached to grab his coke bottle glasses.
Suddenly his door slammed open and he met eyes with his mother, who looked furious.

"School started twenty-five minutes ago! What are you still doing in bed?!" Maggie raised her voice at him.

"Sorry, I-I just...I just overslept, Mom." Richie's voice came out small.

Maggie rubbed her temples and let out an agitated sigh.
"Hurry up and get ready." She ordered Richie before exiting his room.

"Hurry up and get ready", Richie mocked his mother as he pulled a Hawaiian shirt from his closet and slipped it over his gray T-shirt.
He then grabbed a pair of jeans and slipped them on over his boxers.

After putting on socks and shoes, Richie grabbed a can of Axe and sprayed it onto himself, not even bothering with deodorant or to brush his hair.

He then made his way downstairs with his dark red backpack and grabbed a banana to go.
"Bye Mom, love you." Richie said, exiting the front door.

"Love you too." Maggie said back, even though Richie was already out the door and on his bike, heading to Derry Highschool.

-

By the time Richie got to school, second block had already started and he quickly grabbed his crumpled up schedule.
He had Journalism second period.

-

Richie quietly opened the large wooden door to room 306 and stepped inside.

"And that's-" The teacher, Ms. Roster, cut off her sentence as she noticed Richie step into the classroom.
Richie gave her a curt smile and quickly grabbed a seat in between Bill and Eddie, who also had Journalism second period.

"Like I was saying, that's how..." Ms. Roster continued what she was saying to the class.

"Richie, where was you?!" Eddie whisper-shouted at Richie, leaning slightly from his seat.

"Sorry, Ed's, I got a bit busy with your mom. She reeeaaalllly didn't want me to leave." Richie teased, which just got him an agitated groan and an eye roll from Eddie.

"Hey Big Bill, had any good chucks lately?" Richie turned to Bill, who's stutter had gotten better.

"Shut up, Ruh-Richie." Bill said good naturedly, grinning.

A/N: Sorry that this chapter was shorter than the last, I couldn't think of what else to write in this, lol.
