"Bye guys!" Beverly said as she disappeared behind the fence and bushes keeping people from visiting the Quarry. News flash, it doesn't work.
"Bye, Bevvy." Richie said with a wave. Everyone had already left the Quarry except for Richie and Eddie. Eddie had asked Richie if he could stay behind and they could talk, which Richie agreed too.
Once Eddie was sure Beverly was out of earshot, he turned towards his towel and began drying his hair out more.
"So," Richie said, catching Eddie's attention, "What'd you wanna talk to me about?"
Eddie set his towel down and sat on a log, motioning for Richie to sit down too. As Richie sat down, Eddie noticed the scent wafting off of him. A mix of cigarettes and Axe, which Eddie strangely liked. It was a Richie smell.
Eddie cleared his throat before speaking, "So, uhm..." He struggled to find the right words. How was he supposed to say this? "Richie, I like you." Eddie finally blurted out, staring into the water below him to avoid Richie's gaze. "A lot."
Richie glanced at Eddie and smiled warmly, laying out his hand, palm up, for Eddie to take. Which he did.
"I like you too, Eddie." Richie admitted. "Since we were, what? Twelve?" Eddie looked at Richie in pure shock, not knowing what to say.
Richie let out a small chuckle and ran his fingers through his hair and then spoke, "I don't know what this quite means for us though."
"What do you mean?," Eddie asked, puzzled.
"Well," Richie started. "We both know we like each other, are we gonna stay friends, or..."
"I don't know." Eddie stated truthfully, a slight blush rising onto his cheeks and over his nose. "What do you wanna do?" He asked.
Richie went quiet for a few moments. "We could try going on a few dates first and see how it all works out, and then put a label on it."
Eddie liked the idea of going on dates with Richie. "Sure, that sounds nice." He said. "How about we go on one next weekend?" Eddie suggested, looking to his right to Richie.
"Yeah, alright." The taller boy agreed. "Where to?"
"The Aladdin?" Eddie suggested. "They're playing Cujo down there next weekend, we ecould watch that."
"Yeah, that sounds nice." Richie replied and then got up, planting a kiss onto Eddie's cheek. "See you next weekend, hotstuff."
Eddie stared after Richie in shock, his face turning tomato red and he touched the spot where Richie's lips had met, and it felt like electricity.

*Time skip to next weekend*
Eddie stood inside the Aladdin, grabbing a large bucket of popcorn and two sodas for him and Richie to enjoy during the movie.
"You ready?," Eddie asked as he returned to Richie who was waiting beside a cardboard cutout.
"Yep," Richie replied. "Let's go."
Eddie handed Richie his soda and lead him to their seats in the movie theatre, taking a seat in the back.
"Do you wanna hang out at my house after this?" Richie whispered to Eddie, taking a sip from his Coca Cola.
"Sure," Eddie replied, taking some popcorn for himself.
Finally the movie began to start, and everyone began to settle down to watch the horror movie based off a Stephen King's novel.
