It was now morning and I'm laying in the crib, contemplating all my life decisions. My little space is long gone but I remember everything.
The rest last night had been uneventful. I had been fed something that was similar to baby food but designed for littles. Levi had then bathed me, got me in pajamas, and fed me a bottle before tucking me in for the night. A part of me enjoyed it but another part of me was ashamed.
How did I go from living independently on the streets to now not being able to hold my own bladder? I went from fighting pull ups to willing wearing a diaper. Worst part of it is, I used the damn thing at some point during the night. Perhaps Levi's new mates could make him forget about this whole Guardian thing. I could eventually return to my little alley and everything would return to normal. The memory of Erik and Axel clutching their marks made me sigh heavily. They hadn't officially accepted their roles yet which could be seen as a good thing. However, if they were already in a caregiver and little dynamic, then my chances of returning home was extremely slim.
"Three guardians? Is that really necessary?" I asked out loud to the Gods and Goddesses above. "I'm not that much of a trouble maker. Well....O.K I lied, most faieries are but that's besides the point. Three is just overkill."
"I see your headspace didn't last very long." Levi's voice fills the room, scaring the literal piss out of me.
"Erm, there is this new thing called knocking. Should try that once in awhile," I tell him while sitting up to cross my arms and glare.
"Oh, did I scare you? Sorry little one, I'll give a warning next time so I dont startle you."
"Me scared? Pfft, as if. It's just the polite thing to do."
My guardian raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing my lie. "Suuuure. Well anywho, let's get you out of that crib so you can get cleaned up. You can do it yourself if you willingly put a pull up on. It's not uncommon for littles to need them in big space. Especially, the ones with a younger headspace."
I groaned but nodded as he brought the side of my crib down. "Fine, but only because I don't want you cleaning me. Gonna need to take me out to dinner first at the very least."
He rolled his eyes but grabbed a clean set of clothes from the closet. I made my way to the bathroom after he handed them to me, along with the stupid pull up. As much as I'd hate to admit it, his outfit choice wasn't too bad. I had a pair of Black pants, dark purple tank top, and a button up black shirt as an outer layer. Damn, this man knows my likes more than I do. Ugh, why does it gotta be so hard to hate him?
I left the bathroom and found Levi sitting down on my normal bed. He had a hairbrush in his hand and a couple of hair ties. "How do you want your hair styled? Ember had helped me get pretty good at doing hair."
"Do you know how to do a french braid?" I asked him curiously. I've never had one before but it always looked cute on others.
He just nodded and motioned for me to come closer. Once I did, he lifted me up and gently placed me in his lap before getting to work. "Just a heads up, tomorrow we are going to meet Axel and Erik at a park. They wanted to meet us again today but I wanted to take things a bit slower. Told them you were still new to all of this and didn't want to overwhelm you more than you probably already are. You need at least a day without anything new. "
I hummed at this, glad that they weren't going to throw me completely in the deep end of things. It's difficult getting used to one caregiver, I don't think I'd be able to handle three right now. "Thank you."
"Of course. You've gone through a lot of big changes lately. Throwing anymore at you would do more harm than good. I know this isn't the life you were expecting but, I promise you will be cared for here. Your feelings and emotions will always be taken into account. Just, try to give us a chance please? I may still be a bit of a stranger to you, but I would like to love and take care of you if you'd let me. "
"The most I can promise is to try," I tell him after a long pause. "I can't promise to accept everything without complaint. A part of me is still on guard and still not ready to trust completely. I've had to be on survival mode my whole life and that's not something I can just turn off."
"I dont expect you to trust me one hundred percent yet," Levi answers with understanding. "It isn't something that happens overnight. I am well aware that it takes time. Trust isn't something that's given, it's something that I have to earn. I'm willing to put that work in but I need you to be open to letting me. I'm sure Erik and Axel are willing to earn it as well. If they aren't then, they better be ready to kiss their chance of being my mate goodbye. My duties as your Guardian comes first."
"Huh, who knew the prince would be a big softie, " I joke lightly as he finishes the last bit of my braid.
"Shhh, that's a secret. Let's go get some breakfast. I had some cooks preparing some pancakes for you when you were getting cleaned up. They should be ready now. I was thinking we could stay in and have movie day."
Oooh, pancakes are good. I prefer waffles more but free food is free food. I hopped off of Levi's lap and headed towards the stairs. "Lead me to the golden fluffiness," I tell him while waiting at the baby gate. He chuckled while picking me up.
We went down the stairs and towards the kitchen, where two plates of pancakes awaited us. There were also bowls of various chopped fruit and three different types of syrups. I was placed into a normal chair and it wasnt long before my pancakes were buried in blueberries and blueberry flavored syrup.
"We are definitely going to need to keep an eye on your sugar intake," Levi commented with a raised eyebrow after my pancakes were finished. He watched as I licked the syrup off my plate. Some got on my nose and before I could wipes it on my Shirt sleeve, he got to it first with a napkin.
"Decreasing the amount of sugar I eat could potentially kill me. My organs thrive on sugar and you wouldn't want to take that away from them right?" The audacity this man has to even think about controling my sugar!
He rolled his eyes while picking up the empty plates. "For someone being new to the whole little thing, you sure are a natural. Go get cozied up in the living room so we can pick out some movies. I wasn't expecting you to be out of littlespace already so there is a few Disney movies out. Since your headspace changed, you can choose different ones if ya want."
I havent seen many Disney movies but if I was going to try this whole little thing, might as well save those movies for when I "slip". Hope Levi doesn't mind horror movies because Evil Dead Rise is first on the list. I've seen the trailor once when I was browsing around in a store and hiding from the rain. They were on the TVs on display and it looked interesting.
When my caregiver walked in, he looked slightly surprised at the movie selection but agreed to watch it. "Honestly, I should have expected this," he said with a smirk before putting it on the TV.
We spent the rest of the day watching movies. The only breaks we had was to get snacks or eat our meals. It was honestly a very pleasent evening and it ended with me falling asleep in Levi's arms. I couldn't help it, the man is a great snuggler. Hopefully my other two Guardians will be as well.
