Siya cleared her throat when she entered her parents room in which only her father was present.

Naresh put the book aside on the nightstand and looked at her.

" Oh, Siya? Come."

Siya walked toward him nervously and sat down opposite to him on the bed. Till date there has never been any normal conversation between her and her father. Maybe it was when she was young. But ever since she started to have the sense to think about her future, there have been only arguments between them.

" Uh, I wanted to thank you for accepting the proposal."

The conversation did not even start and it already became awkward.

Naresh smiled.

" No need to thank, dear. Rudra is a nice man. His family is great as well."

Siya forward a small smile at him and felt out of words suddenly, not knowing what to say further. To end the awkward moment, she thought to leave but Naresh stopped her.

" Uhm, why don't you stay a little longer?"

Siya frowned slightly but not thinking much, she smiled and sat there. She tucked the loose strands of her hair behind the ear.

" So, how did you meet him?"

Naresh began the conversation. Siya recalled their first meeting and smiled.

" It was actually a funny encounter. I took him as one of my fans and signed an autograph on his arm."

Naresh chuckled and Siya continued.

" He irritated me initially but we eventually became friends then..yeah, now marrying."

She blushed and laughed nervously.

" You know, I once thought of fixing your marriage with him but later dropped the idea as I found what a bad reputation he had among people. However, when I met him he told me everything related to his business. He does a good job and I found him suitable to be your life partner."

" Really?"

He nodded and added, " he gave you the credit for his changed behaviour."

Her smile grew wider and she chuckled slightly. Naresh took a deep breath and removed his specs and put them on the nightstand.

She stared at his face and found his smile reflecting a bit of sadness.

" I," he stopped in the middle and sighed. He grabbed her hand then continued,

" I am so proud of you, my daughter."

Siya's smile faded hearing the sentence she yearned to hear from many years. Naresh looked emotional.
