As Charles paced the waiting room, she heard familiar voices approaching. Loyden’s parents had arrived at the hospital, along with Josiah, . Their faces were filled with a mix of concern and excitement.
"Loyden’s in the delivery room now," Charles said, giving them a quick update. Her voice was calm, but anyone who knew her well could sense the underlying tension.
Loyden's mother stepped forward, giving Charles a reassuring hug. "She’s strong. Everything will be fine," she said with a comforting smile.
Josiah, standing beside them, looked worried but was doing her best to stay composed. “I can’t believe it’s finally happening,” she whispered, glancing toward the doors that led to the delivery room.
As they settled in, Josiah asked, “Where’s Selah? Shouldn’t she be here?”
Charles shook her head. “She’s at school. We didn’t want to disrupt her day, especially with all the stress lately. We’ll let her know once the baby arrives.”
Loyden’s father nodded in agreement, placing a hand on Charles’ shoulder. “She’ll meet her sibling soon enough. For now, we just need to focus on Loyden.”
The family sat together, waiting anxiously, their thoughts with Loyden as she prepared to bring their newest family member into the world.
After four long hours of waiting, the doctor finally stepped into the waiting room, a smile on his face. Charles, Loyden’s parents, and Josiah all stood up anxiously, holding their breath for the news.
"Congratulations!" the doctor said warmly. "You have a healthy baby boy."
Charles let out a deep sigh of relief, a wide smile spreading across her face. She quickly hugged Loyden’s parents, who were overjoyed. Josiah clapped her hands in excitement, her worry turning into pure happiness.
“How’s my wife?” Charles asked, still concerned for her wife.
“She’s doing well, resting now,” the doctor reassured her. “You’ll be able to see her and your son soon.”
Charles nodded, feeling a flood of emotions relief, joy, and gratitude. She couldn’t wait to meet her newborn son and share the news with Selah later.
After what felt like an eternity, a nurse came to guide the family to Loyden’s room. Charles, Loyden’s parents, and Josiah followed closely, their excitement and anticipation growing with each step.
When they entered the room, Loyden was sitting up in bed, looking tired but glowing with happiness. Cradled in her arms was their newborn son, wrapped snugly in a soft blue blanket. The sight of mother and child together brought a wave of emotion over everyone.
Charles immediately went to Loyden’s side, her eyes filled with love and awe as she gazed down at their baby boy. "He’s perfect," she whispered, brushing a gentle hand over her son's tiny head.
Loyden smiled up at her, her eyes shining. "He’s finally here."
Loyden’s parents approached, teary eyed as they took in the sight of their daughter holding their new grandson. "He’s beautiful, Loy," her mother said softly, leaning down to kiss her on the forehead.
Josiah, standing nearby, smiled brightly. “He already looks like a little fighter,” she said with a laugh.
Charles couldn’t stop staring at her son, overwhelmed with gratitude that everything had gone smoothly. “Selah’s going to be so excited when she meets him,” she said, imagining their daughter’s reaction to becoming a big sister.
For now, though, it was a quiet, peaceful moment a family together, welcoming the newest member into their lives.
Loyden’s mother, still gazing lovingly at her daughter and the baby, leaned in closer with curiosity. “What have you decided to name him?” she asked gently, a smile lighting up her face.
Loyden exchanged a glance with Charles, a soft smile spreading across her lips. “We decided to name him “Skyler Silas Azriel,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “It means ‘my God is Yahweh.’”
Charles nodded, pride evident in her eyes. “We felt it was perfect for him,” she added.
Loyden’s mother beamed. “his name is a beautiful name! He’ll be so proud of it when he grows up.”
Josiah chimed in, “And it fits him already! Welcome to the family, little Silas.”
The room filled with joyful chatter as they all took turns admiring the baby, the name resonating with love and significance as they embraced this new chapter in their lives.
