"I sent the money for two months Dialysis, and extra for anything you and Grandma need" I said over the phone, speaking to my mother.
A few days ago Ron gave me my cut. It was the biggest payment I've ever received all at once, six grand. I'm not gonna lie this shit is scary but the money is definitely motivation.
"How's Granny?" I asked.
"Well...she pushin' through, she got the first round of dialysis yesterday. Seems like she got a little energy than before, so we'll see." I nodded, even though she couldn't see me.
"Mummy, mi will talk to yuh lata...I have to go, got some business to sort out," I said as Ron pulled off the road onto a patch of land covered with long brown grass and surrounded by green lush trees.
"Ok baby... we'll talk lata, tekcare!" mom said through the receiver.
We were in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. Bones had reached out to Ron, telling us about the setup he had out here for us to start cooking crystals.
"Yo Ron, where the fuck we at?!" I chuckled, looking around.
"Welcome to The Barrens," he said with a smile, glancing over as he drove deeper into the land. The land was huge, a whole lot of hectares.
A couple of minutes later, we pulled up to a RV. I shot Ron a raised eyebrow, but he just kept smiling. We got out of the car, and I grabbed my duffle bag from the backseat.
"This is it! This is the lab," Ron said, staring at it, his face lighting up with excitement.

I glanced around, taking in the surroundings, trees swaying gently in the breeze, the air thick with the scent of pine and earth. The RV looked old, worn down, but Ron's excitement didn't fade. He walked ahead, practically bouncing with energy, while I stayed a few steps behind, still processing the reality of where we were.
"You're serious?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around the idea of an RV being our new base of operations.
Ron nodded, throwing me a quick grin. "Dead serious. Bones said this setup is lowkey, perfect for what we need. No one's gonna come snooping around here."
I followed him to the door of the RV, the duffle bag slung over my shoulder, feeling the weight of both the bag and the situation settling in.
Ron swung the door open with a loud creak. Inside, the space was cramped, but everything was set up, tables with equipment, chemicals, and glassware lined up neatly. It looked more like a makeshift lab than a place anyone would live in.
"This is where it starts," Ron said, his voice buzzing with excitement. "This is where we make even more money."
I stood there for a moment, staring at the setup, it was perfect. Feeling the rush of adrenaline mix with a creeping sense of unease. There was no turning back now.
