Inferno and Illusion
The atmosphere in the arena crackled with electricity as Y/n prepared for her next match, after beating tokoyami she felt ready for Bakugo. The announcer's voice boomed, "Next up, we have Y/n L/n from Class 1-B versus Katsuki Bakugo from Class 1-A!" The crowd erupted into cheers, anticipation swirling like a storm.
Y/n's heart raced as she stepped onto the battlefield. Opposite her stood Bakugo, his expression a fierce blend of determination and excitement. He was her personal trainer, and she knew well how formidable he was. This wouldn't be an easy fight. "Let's see what you've got, L/n," Bakugo growled, fists clenched, a surge of explosive energy radiating from him.
As the signal for the match blared, Bakugo charged forward without hesitation, palms igniting with explosive energy. "Die!" he roared, sending a barrage of blasts her way.Y/n dodged instinctively, narrowly avoiding the first blast. The ground trembled as Bakugo's explosions shattered the air around her, scorching the earth and sending debris flying. The heat was intense, wrapping around her like a suffocating blanket.
"C'mon, bitch! I thought you'd be stronger!" Bakugo taunted, his confident grin only fueling her determination. Clenching her fists, Y/n took a deep breath, her resolve hardening. She focused, channeling her energy into a melodic hum that enveloped her in a bioluminescent glow. She needed to outsmart him; brute force would not win this battle.
Bakugo charged again, launching another series of explosions. "You think that fucking little light can save you?" he snarled. The heat radiated off his blasts as they detonated around her, creating shockwaves that rattled her bones.
With her heart pounding, Y/n took a calculated risk. "Let's see how you handle this, dickhead!" she shouted, directing her humming toward him, attempting to create a moment of hesitation.
For a fleeting moment, confusion flickered in Bakugo's eyes. "What the fuck?" he grunted, trying to shake off the effect. Seizing the opportunity, Y/n lunged at him with a swift kick aimed at his midsection.
The kick connected, surprising him and sending Bakugo stumbling back. "Nice try, but you'll fucking need more than that!" he spat, quickly recovering and retaliating with an explosive attack that lit up the arena.
The force hit her squarely, knocking her off balance. Y/n stumbled but forced herself to remain standing, her determination blazing. She needed to keep the pressure on him, but her throat was starting to feel sore from overusing her quirk. Still, she refused to back down.
Summoning her strength, she let out another powerful note, her influence radiating outward in shimmering waves. The air shimmered, and she directed the energy toward Bakugo, trying to disorient him. "You're not winning this!"
He narrowed his eyes, gathering all his power for a single, devastating blast. "Fucking get ready bitch!" he shouted, the arena vibrating with his energy. The sheer force of his explosion illuminated everything around her as he unleashed it directly at her.
Y/n braced herself, but the impact was immense. It slammed her to the ground, her body colliding with the earth as pain radiated through her limbs. She struggled to rise, her vision blurring from the intensity of the blast, the brightness leaving her momentarily disoriented.
Pushing through the pain, she forced herself to her feet, but as she looked at Bakugo, she noticed that her vision was becoming more distorted, the edges of her sight blurring. "Focus, Y/n. You've got this!" she whispered, trying to push through the effects of her overexertion.
Bakugo charged again, his explosive energy swirling around him, his confidence renewed. "You really think you can fucking control me?" he snarled, launching another barrage of explosions toward her.
Y/n felt her throat constrict, every ounce of her energy being siphoned away. She dodged frantically, but she could feel the toll her quirk was taking on her body. She was nearly blind now, the world reduced to blurs and shadows as she fought to stay conscious.
In a moment of desperation, Y/n summoned every last bit of strength and began to hum again. The glowing tendrils of her quirk shimmered around her, attempting to create a distraction. "I... can't lose," she croaked, her throat burning, her body aching.
Bakugo's eyes narrowed as he prepared for another attack. "COME ON FUCKING TRY HARDER!" he snarled, the intensity of his next explosion radiating through the arena.
The moment he unleashed the colossal blast, Y/n felt like the air was ripped from her lungs. The explosion hit her like a freight train, throwing her backward with a force that left her gasping. Pain exploded across her body, and she felt her consciousness slipping away.
She landed hard against the ground, her limbs protesting against the impact. Dazed, Y/n struggled to push herself up, but her vision was nearly gone-everything was a blur, colors swirling and fading. She could barely see Bakugou standing a few feet away, the outline of his body dimly illuminated by the smoke and chaos around them.
The sharp sting of fresh wounds erupted across her body as she tried to move. A deep gash ran down her arm from where debris had cut into her, blood trickling down and soaking into her clothes. Her side was bruised and bloodied from a previous explosion, a constant reminder of her injuries. She could feel warmth pooling at her waist, the blood seeping through her fingers as she pressed down, trying to staunch the flow. It was dizzying.
The referee's whistle pierced through the haze, but Y/n could barely process it. The announcement rang out, "The winner is Katsuki Bakugo from Class 1-A!" The cheers of the crowd echoed, but all she could feel was the overwhelming fatigue, the sharp pain in her side, and the dark void threatening to pull her under.
Bakugo stood above her, chest heaving, a mixture of triumph and respect in his eyes. "You lasted longer that I fucking though you would" he said, though his voice was strained, echoing in her fading consciousness.
The world around her dimmed as she fought to stay awake, injuries throbbing and vision nearly gone. Every breath was a struggle, and she could feel the blood pounding in her ears, drowning out the noise of the crowd. She was acutely aware of the searing pain in her ribs and the warmth of blood trickling down her arm, yet she couldn't force her body to respond.
Her skin felt clammy, and the sound of her heart thudded in her chest, a relentless reminder of her struggle. She blinked, desperately trying to clear her vision, but all she could see were shadows dancing around her. She was losing the battle against consciousness, and with every passing second, the world around her slipped further away.
As her vision faded to darkness and the deafening cheers of the crowd became distant echoes, Y/n felt her strength leave her. The last thing she registered was the ground rushing to meet her as she slipped into unconsciousness, her body battered and bloodied.
