Lesson Learnt
Breathing heavily, Y/n wiped the sweat from her forehead and glanced at her teammates from her position on the floor. "Well, that was intense," she said, her voice a bit strained. "Remind me to practice my sprints more often... I don't think my quirk's going to help me outrun anyone anytime soon." She coughed, trying to catch her breath.
"Yeah, girl, you almost fell flat on your face at the end-it was quite funny." Kendou and Tsunotori started giggling at Shiozaki's comment.
Catching her breath, Y/n gave them a deadpan look. "Glad I could provide some comic relief," she replied dryly, though a small smile started to tug at the corner of her lips. "Next time, I'll try to be more graceful in my defeat." She chuckled, joining in on the laughter. "But I really should work on my physical conditioning. Maybe I should find someone to train with after school or join a gym..."
"Well, you can always spar with me whenever you want!" Kendou offered. Y/n giggled and thanked her friend. As the laughter settled down, they headed to the changing rooms to change back into their regular clothes, still chatting and joking with each other.
As they walked back towards the main building, they noticed some of the students from Class 1-A heading in the same direction. Kendou, ever the conversationalist, waved at them. "Hey, how'd your assessment go?" A few Class 1-A students responded with their own stories. Feeling more at ease after the shared humor, Y/n joined the conversation.
"So, what was the most unexpected challenge you faced today?" she asked, genuinely curious. Mina Ashido scratched her head thoughtfully.
"Honestly, it was probably the precision test. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to hit those moving targets while using my quirk."
Tsunotori nodded. "Yeah, those moving targets are tricky. It's all about timing and control."
The group made their way to the cafeteria and decided to grab a quick bite together before calling it a day. Y/n settled down with her new friends, and they started chatting about the day's events. "So, what's everyone looking forward to the most about being here?" she asked, sparking a lively discussion.
Shiozaki smiled. "I'm looking forward to the combat training. I want to see how far I can push myself and improve my skills."
Tsunotori nodded. "Same here. Plus, I can't wait to see everyone's quirks in action. It's fascinating how unique each one is."
Y/n took a sip of her drink. "Yeah, I'm excited about that too. I definitely want to get better at using my quirk in different situations. Today's assessment showed me I have a lot to work on."
Ashido chimed in. "For me, it's all about making new friends and building strong relationships. We're all going to be heroes someday, so having a good support system is important."
Kendou grinned. "Speaking of building relationships, what do you guys think about making plans for the weekend? We should all hang out and get to know each other better."
Y/n's eyes lit up. "That sounds like a great idea! What do you have in mind?"
Ashido leaned forward. "How about we go to the mall? There's a new arcade that just opened up. We could play games, grab some food, and just have fun shopping."
Tsunotori clapped her hands. "That sounds perfect! I'm in."
Kendou nodded. "Count me in, too. Y/n, what about you?"
Y/n smiled. "I'd love to. It'll be a great way to unwind after our first week."
Ashido grinned. "Awesome! Let's meet up at the main entrance of UA on Saturday around noon?" Everyone agreed, and the conversation shifted to their favorite games and activities. Y/n felt a sense of contentment as they talked. She had been nervous about making friends and fitting in, but now she felt like she had found a group of people who truly understood and supported her.
As they finished their meals, Kendou leaned back in her chair. "This is going to be a great year. I can feel it."
Tsunotori nodded. "Agreed. We're going to achieve great things together."
Y/n looked around at her new friends. "Definitely. Let's make the most of it."
With their weekend plans set and their spirits high, they headed to the front gates and went their separate ways. As the day came to an end, Y/n gathered her things and made her way towards the school gate. The sky was tinged with hues of orange and pink as the sun set, casting a warm glow over the campus. She walked with a slight ache in her muscles, a reminder of the day's strenuous activities.
Just as she was about to leave the grounds, she noticed a tall, bespectacled boy walking a few steps ahead. Recognizing him as a student from Class 1-A, she remembered seeing him earlier. Adjusting her bag on her shoulder, she accidentally bumped into him. "Oh, sorry about that," she said, looking up at him.
Iida turned to her. "No problem," he replied, adjusting his glasses. "You're from Class 1-B, correct?"
"Yeah, that's right. Y/n L/n," she introduced herself with a small smile.
"Tenya Iida," he responded with a formal nod. "Are you heading home?"
"Yep, long day," she replied lightly. "How were your assessments?"
"Challenging but productive," he said. "It's always beneficial to understand where we can improve."
She nodded, appreciating his straightforwardness. "True. Though I could use a bit more grace and a bit less tripping over my own feet."
Iida's lips twitched into a small smile. "It's all part of the learning process. We all have areas to work on."
"Thanks," she said, genuinely appreciating the encouragement. "Well, see you around, Iida."
"Likewise, L/n," he replied, giving another polite nod.
