Around 7:20 just 40 minutes before Monica usually got up to get ready for work Aunt Minnie woke her up to a breakfast in bed and presents! Monica really wanted to know what had happened on the phone last night but she decided not to spoil her breakfast and gifts. Her favorite banana waffles with wipe cream and a glass of orange juice was great, but her gift was not what she had expected. In the wrapping that she opened she found a new paint set and a gift card to Jaba Tea Shop the place her and Lib had always gone after a win to celebrate. Since she hadn't gotten what she wanted and she assumed that nothing could be worse she decided to ask her aunt who Kimberly was. Minnie was in total shock because she didn't know Monica had heard her conversation but she told Monica everything. "Kimberly is your mother and she is very sick, a man who works for her called and said the only thing she wants before she dies is for you to come and see her in Vermont." She had thought her gift was bad but this news just knocked the wind out of her. She had to sit down on her balcony for fresh air and she told Minnie that she needed to think. Everything was racing through her head so fast because she really had never met her mom before she didn't have any pictures of her, and she didn't know who her father was all she had was the song her mother had wrote down for her and a little stuffed rabbit as a gift that she kept on her night stand. Why would her mother want to see her, why wasn't her father taking care of her and who was the man that called, was it her father? Well it couldn't be because Aunt Minnie had said it was someone who worked for her mom. If she went she decided then that she would call her mother Kimberly not mom because she thought of Aunt Minnie as a mother more then anyone. Finally she went back into her room got her uniform for work and went to go and take a shower.
After a long shower she ran down the stairs grabbed her lunch box, ran out of the house before her aunt could say a thing, put her lunch box in her bicycle basket and peddled off as fast as she could. She needed more time to think but she knew that if she ended up deciding to go she would have to decide today. Her birthday didn't seem to be going her way because while she was working a little girl spilt her chocolate milk all over Monica, an older women spilt her coffee and Monica couldn't stop in time and slipped and fell on it and a girl called in sick so she had to work two extra hours with no pay. But finally after 7 hours of work from 9-4 Monica road home on her bike and decided she would go to see Kimberly and she would tell her aunt as soon as she got home.
