Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Call of the Abyss

Late one night, as the Children rested after their day of preparations, Ayla found herself drifting into a deep sleep. But this was no ordinary dream. She stood in the midst of the Void, surrounded by endless nothingness. A voice—soft and sinister—echoed through the darkness.

Voice of the Void: (whispering, echoing through the abyss) "You think you've won, Child of the Cosmos... but the true war is only beginning. The Mothers cannot save you from what is to come."

Ayla's heart pounded as she tried to discern the source of the voice, but the Void revealed nothing. She knew, however, that this was no idle threat. The darkness within the Void was sentient, alive, and hungry.

Ayla: (determined, defiant) "I am not afraid. The Mothers' light will guide us through any darkness."

But the Void only laughed—a cold, hollow sound that sent shivers down her spine.

Voice of the Void: "We shall see..."
