I wake in the trunk of a car. It's tight. I feel around and find another hand. Then I realize it's Sondra's. I grab it and hold it. I hear a small sigh.

The cloth around my mouth is preventing me from talking so I sigh back. Here we are, on our first real date in the trunk of a car going God knows where.

All of a sudden the car stops. The driver side's door opens and the driver steps out. I hear the footsteps grow closer until the trunk fills with light.

"Wakey-wakey!" I hear the mysterious guy's voice say. I look up to see him. "You two get to come with me to see some old friends."

Two large men come over to the trunk and pick us up. One takes me and one takes Sondra. I wiggle. Each time I try and get loose, the man squeezes me tighter. I look over at Sondra.

The man has her thrown over his shoulder. Her high-heels stick out over his arm and the rest of her swings down his back.

What old friends? I wonder.

When the men finally stop walking, we have come to a large barn in the middle of the woods. The men take us inside and throw us in a stall. Since our feet and hands are tied together, we can't move.

Then I see them. The old friends we have been waiting for, the council.

"Untie them, Charles!" The woman says to the man that carried Sondra in.

"Yes, ma'am! Right away!" He says and busys himself to us.

Once we're untied, we stand up.

"What do you want with us?" I ask.

"We have to kill you two." The woman says. "And besides, weren't you already dead?"

"Yes," I say.

"Then, are you a vampire?" She asks.

"No!" I say.

"Then how did you come back to life if you didn't have vampire blood in you when you died?" She asks.

"We're not telling!" Sondra chimes in.

"Very well then. Let's carry on with this!" The woman says and charges towards Sondra.

I start running towards her. But wait. How am I supposed to kill her if I don't have a wooden steak?

Sondra seems to have her under control so I go and find a piece of rotted wood. I break it in half and take the sharper side.

I continue running towards Sondra.

"Kevin! The steak!" Sondra yells.

As I start lifting it up to throw it to her, one of the vampire council members comes over shoves it in my stomach.

My blood starts pouring out all over the floor. I don't have the pocket watch.

I'm going to die this time.

For real.
