Sitting in a criss-cross position on the plush couch that adorned Taurus and Ivory's living room, Ceyane's eyes zeroed in on the bright screen of her laptop that rested in her lap.

Her fingers tapped against the keys, the clicking and clacking echoing through the space.

She was busy updating her booking site information, and making the overall appearance look more appealing to those who might've been interested in scheduling an appointment.

Her focus then suddenly became broken when her phone began to ring. Allowing the sound of the ringtone to pull her away from the task at hand, she reached over and grabbed the device.

Looking at the Caller ID, she saw that it was her mother. Twisting her lips to the side, she instantly felt guilt form in her gut like an unsettling knot.

She'd been avoiding Natalya's calls, which made her feel like a terrible daughter. But truthfully, this wasn't something out of the ordinary for her.

When life began to throw curveballs her way and shit became hectic, Cece would distance herself from those she loved until she got herself together. And yes, this included her parents.

The only reason she hadn't distanced herself from Vee was simply because they were under the same roof together, so technically, it would be practically impossible.

Pushing her feelings aside, she exhaled and pressed the answer button. "Hello?"

"Oh it must be a miracle, she finally stopped avoiding me." Her mother spoke sarcastically.

"Momma.." Ceyane trailed off, sighing. As if she didn't already feel bad enough.

"I'm just kidding around, Cece. Are you doing okay? I've been worried about you." The concern in the older woman's voice meant a lot.

"I'm managing. Life has been lifeing but i'm still surviving. I could be better but I also could be worse so..I guess i'm fine." She told her mother in all honesty.
