"Please don't tell your brothers!" I beg him, making him scoff and shake his head. He stepped forward and took my cheek in his large hands. The pads of his hands were rough and hard, no doubt due to his train as a knight.

"Why? You fear they will judge you?" He wiped a stray tear away. His eyes held so much... love.

"I don't want them to view me as weak."

"No, my Little Sky. You are wrong, you would be seen as strong. You've endured so much." He whispered. He leaned down, making me shut my eyes and tilt my head up. His plump lips kissed my forehead.

"I don't wish for them to know." My head shakes softly since his hands were still on my cheeks. His eyes soften as he looks deeply in my eyes, into my soul.

"I understand, I will not speak of it to them. However I fear this will come out one way or another." Tears burned my eyes and my cheek grew red.

"I will tell them, just not now." His hands moved to my cheeks down to hold my hands. "I want to wait? Is that bad?"

"No, no it's not bad. This is our first day together, you don't need to tell us anything. Take your time, just be wary." His thumbs make small little circles with the pads of his thumbs. I just nodded softly, this was a heck of a first day. My bottom lip was sucked in between my lips and I started chewing.

"Stop biting your lips every time you slit it open. I want to pin you against the wall and go at you like a rabid dog."

    "Sorry."

"Oh you never have to apologize to me for being so appealing." Darius dipped his head into my neck, his warm breath hit my jaw. "I've never loved the smell of chocolates more."

    "Smell of chocolate?"

"That's what you smell like to every vampire that you stubble a pond. I'm amazed that no vampire has sunk their teeth in you, yet." He placed his hand on my neck and dipped his cold fingers in the high collar of my shirt. The pad of his thumb rubbed up and down the middle of my throat.

The dining room was quiet, besides the sound of forks and knives scraping against the porcelain plates. I cut into the stake, the blood pooled around the fork. My eyes drifted away as my stomach churched in disgust. Do stakes normally bleed this much? My eyes drifted across everyone's plate to see theirs was much more bloody than mine. I decided to move my fork tones from the stake to the seasoned broccoli.

"Stake not to your liking?" Cassius asked, he's been talking to me much softer since this evening.

"Oh no! I-I just really like vegetables!" I felt bad for lying, however I wasn't prepared to call the royal cooks' food distasteful. He let out a little hum and drank out of his wine glass. My eyes connect with his fingers on the neck of his glass. His nails were long and well groomed, with a pointy end. I didn't know why but the blue veins that spider webbed the back of his hand, felt like something exotic. Something I should look away from, to give him respect.

"Skylar honey, is there anything you want specifically at the wedding?" The queen spoke up and plopped a meat cube past her red stained lips.

"The wedding?" I snapped my eyes away from her lips to her eyes. "Oh our wedding!" My face started to feel warm as the blood rushed to my cheeks.

    "Yes, your wedding."

"Oh um, not really? I don't really know what I would like? Honestly I didn't think I would be married off so soon maybe fireworks? I really like the red and gold one, but if we don't have any then that's fine too!" I rabble, only realizing at the end when everyone's red eyes were on me. My throat tightened and went dry making me let out a tiny cough. My fingers started to freeze once I picked up the crystal cold water. Oh how I wish Carla was here with me, she would be able to converse with ease.

"It's the wedding of the century, of course we will make sure there are fireworks, that you can see from miles away!"

"Oh of course! I wouldn't expect less." I take another long drink of water, leaving only the ice clinking together when I set it back on the table. With in seconds a butler stepped forwards and filled it back up to the brim.

"What about having some of those little white flowers, the ones that grew outside your grandmother's house." Darius spoke up with a soft smile towards me. My eyes snapped to his, my eyebrows relaxed as I remembered he read my mind.

"Huh? Which ones?" My grandma had a fondness for flowers, sometimes in the sling she would fill her little lawn with wildflowers. They popped up every spring.

"The ones you thought fairy's used as dresses." A smile that creeped up. The bell flowers, my grandmother said it's easy to remember their names because they look almost exactly like little bells that chime. However I disagree with this, my little 5 year old self thought fairy's would use them as dresses.

"The bell flowers? I can't believe I forgot about them! My favorite flower, I would really appreciate it if we could incorporate them into the wedding!" My grin widened as I looked towards the queen for permission.

"Of course dear, it's your wedding." She bent over and picked lint off my shoulders. I don't know why, but I found this action loving, like a mothers love. She gave me a little smile.

"When is the wedding? I was never told a date."

"We have set the wedding for two weeks from now." The king finally spoke since he had sat down to eat. My eyes widened slightly at the two weeks notice. Getting married so soon made my chest tighten a little. I will be turned in two weeks, then stuffed underground for a month, like a corpse.

Dinner got finished sooner than I thought. Breakfast took much longer, or at least it felt like it, and I excused myself early. Looking back I felt bad leaving Clara to the wolves, when I woke up from my sleep I had completely forgotten about her. She left right after breakfast, going back to her little herb shop. I was told I can visit her any time, all I had to do was ask the king first.

That made me feel nervous, he was more intimidating than Cassius. I'm sure I could just pass on the message to Darius and have him talk with his father. I'm sure he will be happy to do it, however I didn't want to abuse his pleasantness with me.

"Are you going to watch me sleep again?" I looked up to Darius who walked to my side down the hallways that twisted and turned. He eagerly volunteered to escort me back to my chambers. It was quite a funny sight, his eyes lit up with joy and he volunteered so quickly he got tongue-tied. Red painted his pale cheeks realizing he stuttered in front of his parents.

"Of course! What else is more important than your safety!" His tone was as if I offended him, and his first born son.

"Are you going to sit in the chair all night? Isn't it uncomfortable?"

"I'm willing to suffer the unpleasantness with the chair." He looked down with a smirk as he chuckled a little. I swallowed the spit in my mouth, my eyes darted around the halls.

"Is it improper to say you can lay in my bed with me? Only if you want of course!" I've never cuddled with a man let alone my own mother. Is it as wonderful as it seems? I've seen many couples on benches cuddling, my envious eye's couldn't pull away most times. He leaned down to my ear and whispered.

"Are you asking me to bed you?" Blood rushed to my face as I snapped my head to look into those predatory eyes.

"Of course not! We have to wait until marriage!" I whispered and screamed. "Right?" I ask softly, looking around for anyone that might have heard us. Surely the queen would not like to hear about this conversation.

"I mean no one will know besides us." He teased me.

"I would prefer to only sleep with my husband."

"Husbands, there's three of us." He corrected me as he opened the door to my chambers letting me walk in first. For such a gentleman he sure can say such exotic things.
