I reached out my hand to touch the little human however all I found was warm sheets. My eyes snap open realizing the human that will be my husband was not gone from the bed. The bed he should stay in until the maid pulls the curtains open. The book I read taught me all about how to care for a human properly. It says humans must sleep for at least 8 hours. It also said how they can get super moody, and their brain isn't fully awake and functioning.

I sit up and strain my ears trying to listen to all and any noise in the room. I fixed my coat and my pants that started riding upwards. My eyes drifted to the bathroom thinking he might just be in there. However no light was shining through underneath the door. My eyebrows crinkled together, where is that little human?

They are fragile from what I read a simple cough and he might croak over. Seriously even one little cut can lead to infection then to amputation or worse. It's a pain really, I want him turned simply because of the stress he's putting me in. Darius came up with the brilliant idea to get him a personal knight following him around without him noticing. So far he has no idea.

One of us would be gleeful being able to watch over him however, with tensions rising with bordering kingdoms. Why must they test my brothers? One has no patience and the other is well— psycho. I'm not sure if that's the correct term.

I slip my shoes on and head towards the bedroom door with a scowl. That human can't just run around, I know he doesn't have all his bearings. Also his maids aren't awake yet to assist him. I swear he better have a good reason for his absence. I felt an itchy feeling going all up and down my spine, that made me more aggravated. That damn human, I'll have to start to tie him to the bed. Not in the fun way that I would enjoy greatly.

Once I stepped into the hallway I looked both directions in confusion. My nostrils flared trying to pick up his sweet chocolate smell. I turn right following the smell.

"Here human, here human." I started calling for Skyler  and I realized how stupid I sound. He's not some dog, I'm sure most humans wouldn't respond well to being called like some pet.

I just continued to follow the smell. Heading towards the kitchen. I thought I fed him enough? Did he always wander around at night? Humans are confusing little creatures, running around all over the place. Very naïve to think they aren't in any danger. We are in a place full of vampires, what if someone tried to scoop him up and eat him.

I stop suddenly seeing his silhouette glowing by a candle stick he held. I was about to scold him, however he started messing with the tapestry in front of him. My eyes narrowed and I took a step back and hid behind the corner. What was he doing? Skyler peeked behind the tapestry and started touching the stones. They suddenly started to glow, making my eyes open in surprise. In all my years I have never seen any tones glow gold. How did he do that?

Skyler took a step back and that's when I noticed his eyes, they were no longer the same. They were pitch black while his face was of no emotion? Is he- no he can't be, Darius read his mind? He can't be an assassin or perhaps a spy! The stones started to move showing a tunnel into the darkness.

"What are you doing?" Darius spoke up behind me making me jump and turn his way. "Hey, you should be with Skyler?"

"Shhh!" I turn and point towards the now empty hallway with no Skyler. "Wait no he was right here!" I whispered harshly. I went down the hall towards the tapestry and moved it to the side, all there was was stone. No mark boring stones that didn't glow.

"There was a tunnel right here! The stones glowed?" I look at Darius analyzing his face. It was clear he didn't believe me.

"Little Sky still gets lost in these walls, he needs maids to help him! You really want me to believe he found a secret tunnel that even I didn't know." Darius made it his mission finding all and any secret passages in the castle when he was 10.

"He didn't look right? His eyes were pitch black!"
