We both didn't breathe, the only movement came from the boy's eyes, looking from me then my sister's body Then back to me. His mouth was slightly open and I could see his brain trying to comprehend what he was seeing. My sister's upper body floating in the water near my porcelain pale knees. I didn't know what to do or what to say. Fear coursed through my veins and a pit open up in my chest."Oh okay." The red head finally shut the bathroom door and stepped further inside. My shoulder relaxed and I finally took a breath. The tension was lifted so was my shoulders. "Is that?" He stepped closer pointing at her. He couldn't see her face due to it being submerged in soapy water.
He looked at me, however I felt a toad in my throat. I didn't know what to say or even do. My eyes were wider than doves eggs; they went even wider when he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her out of the tub. She immediately fell backwards and with a thud. Her black wet hair that was now no longer in a tight neat bun stuck to the marble ground with locks of hair sticking out.
"You know what? Your Highness, I think we are going to be just fine!" He stepped over to look at her body spread onto the ground. Her once neat uniform now all disheveled in the fight for her life.
"What the fuck!" My snap over to see Emilee quickly shutting the door with a pitcher in her hands. Her eyes scanned the room in a frenzy. "Cain, I told you to watch her not kill her!" She spoke through gritted teeth, not talking loudly. Her eyes scanned the red head in disbelief.
He let out an assortment of sounds of disbelief before pointing his finger at me. "He did it!"
"Skyler?!" Her voice was full of desperation and fear.
"It all just happened so fast! She came in here and started saying such cruel words and I just snapped?" I looked at her confused, not even understanding why I snapped. He rubbed at her neck.
"Okay let's just all calm down, it happened we just now have to figure out what we are going to do." Emilee stepped closer to my sister. Peeking over her body to look at her closed eyes and pale skin.
"It's been a while since I had to hide a body." Cain the red head started to stretch his arms like he's ready to drag the body of my sister to her grave. What did he mean by that?! Is he some secret serial killer? Am I in extreme danger?
"How are we—?" Emilee was cut off by my sister snapping her body up and coughing up bubbly soapy water and her breakfast. Her eyes were wide in fear and she held her stomach in pain. Everyone screamed and Emilee smashed the porcelain pitcher onto my sister's head knocking her out and fell into a puddle of her own vomit and lemonade.
"She was alive no- is she still alive?" I sat further up onto my knees to see my sister starting to bleed from her head. Her chest rose and fell showing she was in fact alive answering my own questions. Now what are we supposed to do? I looked towards Emilee for answers, however when our gaze met she looked to Cain and I also looked towards him.
"I say we kill her and take her to this pig farm down in the 6th ward. I hear they eat anything." His eyes drifted to my knocked out sister. "We might have to cut her up though." He shrugs like it was no big deal making my jaw drop.
"What no, that's barbaric!" Emilee screamed in terror and I can't keep but agree with her. Granted my sister was a monster that the devil might be half tempted to send to heaven so their paths never crossed. She might just come back to haunt me as a ghost. I also didn't want a villager eating a pig that ate my sister. Borderline cannibalism at that point.
"Then I have nothing." Cain shrugs, not liking that we hated his solution to the problem.
"Let's get Darius, he'll help us." I spoke up and Cain immediately snapped his fingers at me. I immediately thought I did something wrong, however I peeked back up with a smile at his next words.
"He's right!" He went over to the big cabin filled with towels and soap. He grabbed a big fluffy towel that of course was white like the rest of the room. He then grabbed a long white robe made of the shiny fabric I like, called silk.
Cain approached me and I stood up realizing the water was now cold. The baths have always been before coming to the castle. I can never go back to cold baths, I had a taste of luxury and I couldn't go back even if someone dragged me kicking and screaming. Even if they killed me I would crawl out of my grave. I know it sounds dramatic but that is what I feel deep down.
"Cain, you go get His Highness and I'll stay here making sure no one finds her and make sure she doesn't awake." Emilee came over to help me out the tub after I was wrapped up in the towel. It felt like I was hugging a stuffed bear.
"I'll be right back!" Cain swiftly left the room going to get my soon-to-be husband. Then worry filled my body, making my chest heavy.
"Emilee, what will happen if this gets out? That I attacked my sister?"
"Darius threatened the high court once, they bent to his will. I'm sure he can do it again, you might be locked in your room for a few days if the queen asks for it. Luckily, you will not be put to death." She wrapped the white long robe around my body before tying it close.
"So I'll be okay?" My eyes drifted back to my sister's sleeping form.
"Darius, won't allow any harsh punishments, however you will not go unpunished." I relaxed a bit, however a new fear appeared.
"Do you think he will be mad?" Emilee paused, opening a drawer from a small cabinet. She turned towards me with a comb letting out a sigh.
The door opens by Cain letting the Crown Prince to step through the threshold entering the bathroom. His eyes moved from mine to my knocked out sister. His cold eyes met mine and they instantly brightened.
"I honestly didn't think you had it in you, I'm so proud of you!" I blink my eyes at him a few times trying to comprehend the odd compliment. He's proud of me? He's proud of me!
