As quickly as all the attention was on me, it quickly fleeted. Everyone continues their conversation, however I spotted a few taking a peek at me. I lick my lips wondering if it would be impolite to pour my own tea. I knew if having tea with only two people the youngest should pour for the oldest. However there were many women of all different ages, from a little girl sitting on her mothers lap to a woman who had gone all gray.
"Skyler I assume, how is it being the prince's bride? Are you worried you can satisfy all of them?" The young woman that spoke was standing up beside me with a smile down at me. She was comfortable looking down at me, making me feel— annoyed.
"I've satisfied them all already, they all get the attention they crave and I get more than enough."
"Really? Are you sure?" She cocks her at me, making me immediately doubt the words that came out of my own mouth a second ago. "I wouldn't be surprised if they have a harem just to satisfy their well— needs."
My eyes snapped to the queen trying to read her reaction or hoping she would stick up for me slightly. However she was watching me, analyzing me and waiting for a response back.
"I'm sure they won't be needing women begging for attention. When I'm at their beck and call, ready to do whatever they need from me. They already can't keep their hands off me." Well technically only Darius however I won't let this little girl who is already pining for the crown prince's attention make a fool of me.
"Well we will just have to see." Her smile was tense along with her posture. Stiff as a board she was.
"Let's." Was all I said and watched her walk away and sit at the far back table, furthest from the queen. I only recall a little from that big book about seating arrangements and I know for certain her rank was far below me.
"Skyler dear, how have my sons been treating you?" The queen turned to me with a polite smile. Her voice was quiet and full of elegance that I so desperately wanted to copy.
"They all are so different, but lovely gentlemen. You have raised wonderful men." My face twisted into a genuine smile, ecstatic that I snuck a complement in. Her face immediately brightened and her red eyes sparkled with joy.
"Oh thank you, I had to try hard with Darius. It was like trying to capture water with a net!" She laughs and starts to fan herself.
"Is that so?"
"Yes oh he was such an— energetic and smart child." I cocked my head to the side as she paused trying to find the correct word. "The heavens gifted me a blessing with a trick in the mix." A blessing? Is that the triples she's talking about? Darius must be the trickster amongst the three.
"He's a sly fox I presume?" She leaned over and opened her fan to cover her mouth. Her warm breath hit the shell of my ear as she spoke softly so no one would hear.
"The slyst of foxes, more cunning than a snake and he'll bite you like one." The queen leaned back, studying my face. My brows came together, not sure if she was warning me for the future. "He's also more dotting than a bear to his cubs."
"He treated me the best out of the three. He already sees me as his life partner." Darius was so caring when I first arrived I'm positive he's not all what his mother is saying. Even during the tests when he didn't know I would be his, he smiled at me with eyes full of comfort.
"Speak of the devil and he may just appear." I follow the queen's eyes to see Darius in his obsidian armor stroll over with a smile. I looked around to see he gained many people's attention. All eyes on him, however he was looking at me and only me. I made sure my posture was perfect for him as he stalked closer. He took a knee, taking everyone including me by surprise. The crown prince was kneeling to me, a boy with a title that can be snatched away as quickly as I gained it.
Darius' cold black armor took my hand in his. He looked me directly in the eyes before bringing the back of my hand to his lips. My stomach did a flip as my head felt fuzzy with excitement. I could feel my cheeks warm, I wanted to tear my eyes away and look around the now quiet guests.
"My bride, may I whisk you away for a few moments?" His eyes drifted to the left of my face and I followed along to his mothers face.
"I expect him back before the tea gets cold." That was all Darius needed before he pulled me out of his chair and to his chest.
"I'll bring him back." He leaned down and swiftly picked me up like I was some prince. My hands touch his chest plate to steady myself. He started walking away However not towards the grand doors leading inside.
"Why do I not believe you?" His mother started softly as she continued to fan herself. She looked slightly upset but masked it well. I'm sure I'm not in her good graces after Darius' little stunt.
"Wait where are we going?" I asked softly however he just smirked down at me. My arms wrapped around his neck as I pouted at his silence. I decided it was best to just let him take me anywhere he desired.

It took awfully long for us to enter a small hidden door covered by vines leading into the mountain? It was a tall stone mountain that casted a shadow down onto the castle in the early morning.
"Where are we going?" Darius opens the door with me still in his arms. He kicked the door open further so the door wouldn't swing back and hit us.
"Shush my love." Was all he said as he walked up this stone staircase that led further into darkness. I shifted a little to hold onto his tighter. The darkness swallowed us while making me feel a little panicked. It felt like the crumbling walls might cave in on us.
My lips parted to voice my concern that this may not be the best adventure. However I suddenly saw a small light that grew as we got closer.
"Darius, what is that?" I looked up at his face that was covered in darkness. My curiosity peaked seeing sunlight in the middle of a mountain. We got closer and I realized that the light was coming from inside a room? I straightened my posture thinking I would be able to see into the room faster then what Darius was walking.
Darius stepped into the room that now had a big opening like a cave. He put me down and I immediately stepped forwards to see almost the whole city. I saw busy people moving around on the cobblestone street. I could even see the sea! I moved closer to a railing along the bottom of the opening keeping me safe. I immediately started searching for the little herb shop.
"Darius! This is amazing!" My eyes took in all the colorful roofs of homes and businesses. The river that cut through the wards looked so small from all the way up here.I looked back at Darius, surprised to see him taking off his armor leaving his clothes underneath. His eyes connected with mine.
"Ist it? I wanted to share this hidden treasure with you." He left his black obsidian boots that reached to his knees. He stepped forward to me with a smirk. "Do you love it?" He purred as he got closer.
"Yes." I was afraid my voice may flutter as I looked into his deep red eyes. My hands gripped harder on the steel railing as his chest was now pushed up against mine. His hand cupped my cheek.
"God, you have no idea you've been dancing around my head these past few days. I was positive I was about to kill someone if I couldn't see you soon." He laughs at his own joke, making me crack a smile too.
