Heeseung's shift finally ended, and he let out a long sigh of relief as he wiped his hands on a towel. His legs ached from the hours of running around the restaurant, but he couldn't help the small smile tugging at his lips as he thought about Jake waiting outside for him. He tossed the towel aside and headed out, pushing through the kitchen door.
Sure enough, there was Jake, sitting at a table near the window, bathed in the soft glow of the streetlights. Heeseung's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him, casually scrolling through his phone but still managing to look like the most effortlessly beautiful person in the world.
Jake's eyes lit up the moment he saw Heeseung approaching. He stood up, shoving his phone into his pocket as he moved towards him with a grin.
"You survived," Jake teased, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me."
Heeseung chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "Nah, just a long day. But I'm glad you waited." He gave Jake a warm smile, one that made the younger boy's cheeks flush a little.
"Of course I waited," Jake replied, his voice soft as he gazed at Heeseung. "I told you I came to see you."
Heeseung felt a flutter in his chest at Jake's words. He wasn't used to this kind of attention, but it felt nice. More than nice, really.
"Come on," Heeseung said, jerking his head towards the door. "Let's get out of here. I owe you a proper conversation now that I'm not running around like a maniac."
Jake nodded eagerly, falling into step beside Heeseung as they walked out into the cool evening air. The streets were quieter now, the chaos of rush hour fading away. They walked in comfortable silence for a few minutes until they found a small park with a bench under a tree.
Heeseung sat down first, patting the spot beside him, and Jake plopped down next to him without hesitation.
"It's nice, right?" Jake asked, looking up at the sky, where a few stars were starting to peek through the clouds.
"Yeah, it is," Heeseung agreed, but his eyes were on Jake instead of the stars.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. It wasn't awkward, just... peaceful. The kind of quiet where you didn't need words to fill the space because just being next to each other was enough.
But as Heeseung watched Jake, the peacefulness gave way to something more—something heavier. Jake was still smiling, his lips soft and inviting, and Heeseung felt his heartbeat quicken, the weight of the day melting away as a different kind of tension took its place.
"Hey," Jake said softly, catching Heeseung's gaze. "Why are you staring at me?"
Heeseung blinked, caught off guard. He hadn't even realized he was doing it. "Uh... sorry," he mumbled, his ears turning red. "I didn't mean to—"
Jake chuckled, cutting him off. "Don't apologize. I like it when you look at me like that."
Heeseung's breath hitched. There was something in Jake's voice, something teasing but also... serious. Like he was daring Heeseung to act on the feelings that had been simmering between them all night.
"Yeah?" Heeseung's voice was a little lower now, his gaze darkening as he leaned just a bit closer. "And how am I looking at you, exactly?"
Jake's lips curved into a smirk, his eyes flickering with mischief. "Like you're thinking about kissing me," he whispered, barely loud enough to hear.
Heeseung's pulse pounded in his ears. "What if I am?"
Jake's smile widened, and without missing a beat, he leaned in until their faces were only inches apart. "Then what are you waiting for?"
Heeseung didn't need to be told twice. He closed the distance between them, his lips capturing Jake's in a kiss that started soft but quickly deepened as the tension between them ignited. Jake responded eagerly, his hands finding their way to Heeseung's shirt, gripping the fabric as he pulled him closer.
The kiss grew more heated by the second, both of them losing themselves in the moment. Heeseung's hands slid up Jake's sides, feeling the warmth of his body through his clothes, and Jake let out a soft noise, almost a whine, that sent a shiver down Heeseung's spine.
Jake pulled back for a breath, but only for a second before diving back in, his lips pressing more urgently against Heeseung's. Heeseung groaned softly, his hand moving to cup Jake's face as he kissed him harder, the world around them fading away.
For a while, that's all there was—just the sound of their breath mingling, the taste of each other's lips, and the heat of their bodies pressing closer and closer.
But then Jake pulled back again, this time with a grin that told Heeseung he was up to something.
"So," Jake said, slightly breathless, "I've been thinking..."
Heeseung raised an eyebrow, still trying to catch his breath. "About what?"
Jake bit his lip, glancing away for a moment before meeting Heeseung's gaze again. "You know... it's pretty late, and I don't exactly feel like going home alone."
Heeseung's eyes widened, realizing where this was going. "Jake..."
Jake pouted, giving Heeseung the most adorable puppy eyes he'd ever seen. "Come on, Heeseung. Just for a little while. We don't even have to do anything. I just... don't want the night to end yet."
Heeseung hesitated, his heart racing. He thought about Riki, about responsibility, about how reckless it might be to give in to temptation. But then Jake looked at him like that, all soft and pleading, and Heeseung felt his resolve crumble.
"One more hour," Heeseung finally said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jake's face lit up with excitement. "Really?"
"Yeah," Heeseung muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Just... one more hour."
Jake didn't wait for Heeseung to change his mind. He grabbed Heeseung's wrist and tugged him towards his apartment, practically bouncing with excitement as they made their way to his door. He fumbled with the keys in his hurry, but eventually, the door clicked open, and Jake pulled Heeseung inside.
