Chapter 14- The Unknown Turn

"Mari! it's not the way to home!" Aurora interrupted noticing an unknown turn

"I know!" Mari replied unbothered

"But we should head home now, it's getting dark, it's almost 6 now, I told dad that we'll be back till 4 but because of you we got out of mall at 5! He must be getting worried" She stated looking at her

"Calm down Aru!!We are heading home only! It's not like I am kidnapping you! duh!"

"I-I know but you are driving from past 1 hour and now in this unknown route, This road is really dark and scary, come on! let's go back!! I am not getting g-good vibes here"

"Oh come on Aru!! Don't be a scaredy Cat! There's nothing to feel scare of! I am with you too right.. and don't worry I'll talk to Uncle!! It's just I always wanted to give this road a try but never got a chance"

"W-why??" Aurora asked being curious

"It's said to be one of most haunted road of this area, It's been said that the one who drives here goes missing and I was curious so just wanted to give it a try since got a chance today" she said in thrilling tone

Aurora's pov

Here l'm all shivering in fear, sitting in the car while Mari was driving, everything was fine until she took an unknown turn towards single laned road

I didn't mind it until the road stared to grew more grim and dark as we kept discovering our path in it...

I shared my point to Mari only to acknowledge that we are traveling in a well known haunted road of city. And this girl is curious... inviting her own problems... God.. SAVE ME

"WHATT!!!!! MARII ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY AND YOU BROUGHT ME TO SUCH PLACE!! SERIOUSLY!! WHAT-"

"One more word and I will leave you here" she calmly uttered with no hint of humour in her tone

I immediately put fingers on my lips as she smiled at me "Good girl! don't be scared, there's no such things, If you are scared! just keep talking to me"

Mari assured as I felt a bit relaxed, she is right tho but still to distract myself I kept myself busy in talking, everything was just going fine until....

Mari was talking to me when suddenly I noticed she widened her eyes looking forward as she exclaimed "SHIT!!!"

And before I could follow her gaze she immediately pressed the break causing the car to disbalanced

My hands immediately reached to the dashboard to balance myself as the lights of car turned off, I closed my eyes and plugged my ears terrified losing all my sense for a second and Boom!! the car stopped with a jolt standing still..

As I felt all the moments in the Car getting stop, I slowly opened my eyes and removed hands from my ears

As I glanced at the view infront of me, my body grew numb as I witnessed the driver seat empty while the surrounding was filled with an eerie silence... Everything took place within swift seconds that I couldn't process what just happened...

My heart beats grew wild while my body shivered with all the negative thoughts

After some times when I brought myself back from the shock realising the car was standing safely in the road... With my thumping heart I looked here and there... Everywhere was silence while nothing was so clear from inside the Car due to winter fog.

Gaining some courage I Called out with a shaky breaking voice

"M-mari!"

But no response was there I decided to call out again but the situation remained the same.... with some courage I finally decided to go out and look for Mari. What if She got some injuries that's why she went out of the car...
