It was silent in Rain's Room. Only the rhythmic clicking of the Clock that was standing in one of the Corners could be heard. Her breath was subtle and her eyes were focused on the Picture Sunny gave to her. In the past couple of hours, Rain went through multiple stages of grief. The first one was Denial ofc. It was hard to believe that something so precious like her parents was gone now. But Sunny had confirmed it himself. He had told her how he had found the picture and that retrieving their Body's had become impossible as soon as the building had collapsed. He had apologized to her multiple times, but it wasn't his fault and Rain knew that.

Right after Sunny had told her she went outside, the second stage of grief had begun and the forest right outside Nephis Mansion was about to learn just how angry she was. She wasn't angry at Sunny ofc, she wasn't even particularly angry at the fact that her parents were dead now. Most of her anger was actually pointed towards herself. She couldn't help but blame herself for not being there when it happened. She couldn't have done much even if she was, in reality it was a blessing that she hadn't been there when the Skinwalker attacked.

The amount of people that had died was staggering. Most of the victims were Civilians from Antarctica and the Hive Cities, but there have been some Awakened among the victims as well. After a while her tears had run out and her essence was completely exhausted. The Forest had taken quite the hit. Fortunately there was a storm raging and the Rain prevented any Fires. Her Aspect enabled her to throw lightning after all and she had used that ability a lot while letting out her frustration.

Soon she went back inside, without saying a single word or listening to anyone, she stomped into her Room and slammed the Door. What was about to follow next was a stage of grief that some people never get over. Depression is something that is beyond something like sadness. Some people lose the Will to live at that point and even end their lives. Not Rain ofc, she wouldn't even think of doing something like that. After all, what good is it to add one more body to the list of dead people that the Skinwalker is responsible for?

Instead she went into a spiral. It felt like something was pressing down on her head. Like something was preventing her from ever feeling happy again. Normally these stages would repeat themselves for days before finally coming to the only health solution. But Rain was different, her mind was different. She had always been blessed with a strong will and a high tolerance for emotional stress, so it only took her a couple of hours to accept reality. She knew that life had to move on, so she decided to treat the deaths of her parents not as the end, but as the beginning of something new.

After some time she could hear voices from outside of her room. She instantly recognized them and started listening to their conversation. It was Rick and Sunny, the two most important people in her life, so she was interested to say the least. Listening to the two talking about sensitive subjects made her feel a little at ease. Knowing that the two understood and more important, liked each other was a blessing for her. One less thing she needed to stress about. After a while the subject of the 3rd Nightmare came up and beside a gruesome truth about Sunny's and Nephis past did something else sparked her interest. Rick had told Sunny that he would one day Challenge the 3rd Nightmare to become a Saint for sure, which made Rain happy, but also worried.

‘Would he be alright? I mean sure he's strong but….No I shouldn't doubt him. I'm sure that he will succeed, especially if he takes Mordy with him. There is no way these two could ever fail.’

Maybe those thoughts were the result of the tiny bit of hope she had left today. But it felt good thinking about something from a positive perspective even if the world seemed to be drowning in Sadness right now. A moment later the Flame of Ambition ignited in her Heart though.

‘I will kill that fucking thing. Even if it's the last thing I will ever do. There is no way that this thing can be allowed to run around freely while they are dead, rotting under these ruins.’
