I watch as he stands there, smirk fading away. Suddenly, he grabs my arm and starts pulling me deeper into the hallway. Oh hell no, this happening one time was enough.

I try to pull my arm back but seeing Adriel's expression from where I was walking, it seemed scary. I grab onto a door handle with my free hand and Adriel freezes when I don't move.

He watches me with an expression of both anger and confusion. "I'm not going anywhere," I say bluntly.

His expression changes and I can't exactly figure out what it was. It seemed much.. softer?

Adriel lets go of my arm and mutters a 'sorry'. "So we're gonna stand in the middle of the hallway to talk?"

I raise my brow at him, "Talk about what?" Adriel leans against the wall across from me. He crosses his arms, causing his muscles to flex. He was pretty big.

"Sora tried to rape you?" I clench my jaw as I recall what just happen and I let out a sigh. "Why does it matter to you?" Adriel stops leaning on the wall and approaches me. I start to regret dropping my knife after stabbing Sora. I was just disgusted by having his 'penis blood' on my knife, so I dropped it right then and there.

He stops a few inches ahead of me but doesn't try to touch me. I felt relieved for some reason. "Because I'm the same guy who confessed to you in high school." He places his hands in his pockets and stares right at me. I knew it was him once I saw his grey eyes and heard his name. Before I could say anything, "So can we talk now?"

I nod. My body had responded before my mind and I'm not sure why I nodded.

"Not here though," I say, just to be safe. He nods with a slight smirk and leads the way. Rather than going out through the main entrance, he takes me to the end of the hallway, which had another door that led outside. He starts walking towards his car, the one car I had been following for days now. He opens the passenger door and I get in while he makes his way to his seat.

I fasten my seatbelt as he starts the car and I give him the address of an outdoor bakery. The car interior was beautiful. It was all black with golden lining, something I had never seen before. I glance at Adriel who was focused on driving. He was gripping the steering wheel so tightly that I thought it might break into pieces.

He brakes suddenly and we both jerk forward. I look ahead of us through the windshield and notice a small bird in the distance. He braked around 5 meters away from the bird. He honks at it and the bird just looks our way instead of moving away. I bite my cheeks to hold in my laugh, "You need to drive close rather than braking so far away."

He responds with a 'hm' and takes his foot off the brakes. The car suddenly jerks forward at a speed that was unacceptable and he continues driving to the bakery when the bird finally goes away. I was shocked at how bad he was at driving. It makes sense though. When I was following him, I always saw him get into the backseat, never the driver's seat. I assumed he had a personal driver.

"Do you even have a license?" I ask, genuinely curious. He shakes his head, "No." I look at him in disbelief. He knew I was a cop and yet he was driving me to places without a license, "You know I'm a cop." He nods. I shake my head in disbelief.

Finally, we reach the bakery and he takes a seat at the table in the corner. It was an outdoor bakery but there was a fence surrounding the entire place. There was a building where all the baking magic takes place, but customers had to eat outside. I take a seat in the chair next to him and rather than getting right into it, he pulls out his phone to scan the QR code on the table. The menu pops up on his phone and he grabs the bottom of my chair, pulling me closer.

He hands his phone to me, "Order anything." I take the phone and scroll through the items. I stop scrolling once I see my favourite drink and press the 'Add' button.
