Could death not come sooner. The atmosphere of once I called home has become suffocating.
Being eyed as guilty by my father in law and parents. That once rejoiced my presence. My room, was now a safe haven. The outside with demons in dark alleyways was more peaceful than home.
A misunderstanding, that spiralled and spiralled out of control.
"Why do you want to control me? Shreya says to no one.
My mother who I sought shade from the unsightly gaze. Saw this turn of events and fled without giving me my chance to speak.
Stupid me should have seen this and left. But I was a coward.
Family bound me like chain, and yet they look at me in distain.
Apologetically my father says to my father in law. "We didn't expect this from her; she was a good one, someone's filled her head and ruined her.
The insults were thrown constantly for the few days my parents were staying with us. Yet I stayed, holdout expecting they will change back to my loving family.
I just stepped out and took the chance for some peace at a cafe, I only knew.
Autumn had finally arrived, the sweltering heat has kind of subsided, but how I can definitely tell, is the call breeze that gently brushes my skin, and the slight rustling of trees. Shreya started wearing a cardigan on top of her Sari.
Shreya looks over to the couple trying to have a cup of coffee, but the baby girl in the stroller had other thoughts. The incessant crying brought ear ache to those seated in this cafe. Father rushing to grab the passifier thrown due to a fit of tantrum. The mother looking through the pram for the bottle of milk. The baby was not pleased, as the shrieks grew.
A hot cup of tea with ginger and cardamom great for the nazely congestion and to pick up the already greyed out sky.
Looking to the couple was a time she wanted long ago. Wouldn't that have been a great memory to have where I and Krishan were to be on a date with the mission of quelling our dear Rudra. In another life time perhaps. Slowly sipping the tea.
Not long ago, a call from Hemen, wishing to speak with Her, instead of calling her to his home. It must mean its over, the short career I had or what ever that was is over. Sulking in to the tea, cheering sweet, but unnoticed.
The unnoticed beverage, was due to the beautiful women that walked into the café. Ileana sat in front of Shreya, all excited and ecstatic. Hemen gentle helped her take off her jacket, folded it on to the chair beside her.
Ileana speaks, thrilled, "I feel like I am actually getting stronger every day. I thank you Shreya, meeting you was a blessing. Of course, I know I've been slowing you down, having to force you to eak out words from me, but I know you won't say anything or Hemen for that matter, but I can see the effect I am burdening you and him". As tears drip down her porcelain face with bloomed pink cheeks.
"I know I've been a burden to too many people, and Hemen is trying his hardest to keep me alive. So, I stand now firm with determination before you Shreya, I will not disappoint him, and so I want to help everyone else for a change. I don't know if what I'm saying makes any sense to you, but the bottom line is I will do everything to get stronger, to get my dignity back and most importantly to get my Hemen back".
It's okay Illeana, in fact, when I'm with you I sit in awe of your imagination. You play with words as if you were playing a flute with melodies that could change the emotions of the passers by.
Hemen, back to work behind the counter serving. Illeana extremely happy and with the sense that all is great.
Then what in world happened that day?I kept it in, to not rock the boat, for what I see here is to good, perhaps it was my misinterpretation that lead me to believe, I am at fault.
Would it not be best if I said something?Hey Readers, I hope you're enjoying this ongoing story.
I am in the works in starting a wonderful new project for a second book. I am still a new author who is still learning in this field. I would really appreciate any advice and solid critique.Till next time
