After tucking Haru into bed, Jin and Jungkook entered the room, the air thick with tension. Jin glanced at the bed, then at Jungkook, feeling the weight of the moment. Jungkook made his way toward the couch, ready to settle in for the night.
“Y-you can sleep on the bed,” Jin said hesitantly.
“Really?” Jungkook’s eyes lit up with surprise and excitement, but the gleam quickly faded as Jin added, “Yeah, you sleep on the bed; I’ll sleep on the couch. That’s it.”
Jungkook’s expression changed, the playful smile vanishing. “No need for that. Let’s sleep on the bed together; it’s big enough for both of us, you know,” he insisted, his tone teasing yet serious.
Before Jin could protest, Jungkook moved swiftly, pushing him gently onto the bed. “Yah! Jeon Jungkook!” Jin exclaimed, wide-eyed.
“What?” Jungkook asked innocently, hovering over Jin with a mischievous grin. He rested his head against Jin's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. The sense of comfort enveloped them both, easing the earlier tension.
“Jungkook, this is… too close,” Jin stammered, but he couldn’t bring himself to push Jungkook away. Instead, he found his fingers weaving through Jungkook’s soft hair, an unconscious gesture that felt surprisingly natural.
Jungkook smiled against Jin’s chest, feeling the warmth radiate from him. “It’s fine; just relax,” he murmured, hugging Jin tightly, his body molding into Jin's.
Jin sighed, torn between the desire to maintain boundaries and the comfort that Jungkook’s presence brought. The way Jungkook nestled into him, the weight of him resting against Jin’s body, felt so right yet utterly wrong.
“Yah, get off me!” Jin protested weakly, though his voice lacked the conviction he wanted it to have. He pushed at Jungkook’s shoulder, but Jungkook merely tightened his grip, a playful smirk on his face.
“Why would I do that when you’re so comfortable?” Jungkook replied, his tone teasing as he buried his face into Jin’s neck, inhaling deeply. “You smell nice.”
Jin’s cheeks flushed at the compliment, his pulse quickening as he felt Jungkook’s breath against his skin. “Stop it. You’re being ridiculous,” he stammered, trying to maintain some semblance of authority.
“Ridiculous? I’m just appreciating my beautiful companion,” Jungkook said, his voice muffled but laced with sincerity. He pulled back slightly to look Jin in the eye, his expression serious yet playful. “And I’m very comfortable right here, thank you very much.”
Jin’s breath hitched as he looked into Jungkook’s deep, dark eyes, feeling a mix of irritation and warmth swirl within him. “You’re impossible,” he sighed, running a hand through Jungkook’s hair absentmindedly. It felt nice, almost soothing, as he felt Jungkook melt into the touch.
Jungkook let out a contented sigh, his body relaxing even further as he shifted slightly to get more comfortable. “You know, I never thought I’d find someone like you,” he murmured, his tone suddenly serious. “Someone who makes me feel... well, different.”
“Different how?” Jin asked, curiosity piqued despite his better judgment.
“Like I’m not just a mafia lord,” Jungkook replied softly, looking up at Jin with those big, earnest eyes. “You make me feel like I can be more than that.”
Jin’s heart skipped a beat. “You don’t have to change for me,” he said quietly, though a part of him wanted Jungkook to change—wanted him to be the man he knew was buried beneath the surface.
“I know,” Jungkook said, a small smile creeping onto his lips. “But I want to.”
The sincerity in Jungkook’s words made Jin’s breath catch. Before he could respond, Jungkook shifted again, leaning in closer, his lips brushing against Jin’s cheek. “So, can we just enjoy this moment? Just for tonight?”
