A TRAGEDY AVERTED! AFTER THREE DAYS, CHARLOTTE FAIRE HAS BEEN FOUND!

July 28th, 1928

In a near-miraculous turn of events, after having gone missing at Camp Ravenwood for three days, Charlotte Faire has been found alive and unharmed, in the very woods she had vanished in.

Charlotte Faire, who is of eighteen years and is a counsellor at the summer camp, had vanished in the woods bordering the camp one night in late July, and was discovered missing the next day when she did not appear for breakfast. Many search parties were sent out to look for Ms. Faire, but all turned up unsuccessful. It seemed  that Ms. Faire would disappear forever, never to be found or even without her body being recovered of the worst should have happen and she would end up dead, until she quite walked out of the woods on the third day, as if she had been in the woods all this time, her hair ruffled and her dress rumpled the only signs of her time in the woods. But the young lady shows no signs of exposure, or of being attacked by wild animals, looking quite well for her time missing.

When asked about where she was and who had taken her, all Ms. Faire could tell us is that a "creature" had taken her, stalked her for two days, until she escaped and walked into camp. This story is quite insane, and must be accounted upon strain on her mind from the sun. She is now in good care at the hospital, and expected to make a full recovery.

This is not the first time such events happened at Camp Ravenwood, though certainly this did not in tragedy. A year ago, ten counsellors and campers were slaughtered at the camp, their bodies recovered but parts of them missing and never found. The killer has still not been found, and it is certain that many feared the killer had returned and murdered Ms. Faire. But as she has been found very much alive, and without any signs of harm, this reporter believes that the mysterious killer has disappeared and will not return—and that aside from this turn of events and the blood-soaked tragedy of last year, Camp Ravenwood will be as it was promised by George Barlow, the founder and director of the camp:

That it is a summer camp that promises fun for children, and whom parents shall feel they can send their children to and be safe at. I know I will be sending my Alice there next summer.
