(Chapter 6) The Real Fire

After everyone got their spook on, we approached the Thanksgiving season. Jack enjoys his walk until discovers something.

Sorrow's End

While Jack was walking home, He found a member of the flame squad in a dark alleyway curled up into a ball crying. Jack went into the alleyway to talk to her. He stood on the opposite side of her and then crouched down to her level. "You alright?" Jack asked. The fire girl looks up and gets a feeling of slight fear from Jack's presence. "What's wrong?" Jack asked. "Don't hurt me please." The fire girl said begging for dear life. "What have you done to me?" Jack asked. The fire girl then took a second to relax. "It's just that. it's kinda known to be a part of your personality to... hate fire users." She said. "I only hate fire users because of people like Zack. Speaking of, where's your team?" Jack asked. "That's who I'm trying to be away from at this point." The fire girl said. Jack was confused. "To tell the truth, I honestly don't care about them. I love being a fire user but it's not something I'd want other people to get control over. I'm Scarlet by the way." She said. "I have a question." Jack said. "Mhm." Scarlet said. "Why don't you attack me any time your team does?" Jack asked. "Because... What have you done to me?" She said. This was the first time Jack got himself into a moment where someone didn't want to fight him because of a very logical reason. "They do what they do for the fame. Everyone does. This school has no room for anyone who isn't "worthy" to breathe the same air as Zack or Peyton. That's why I'm planning on dropping out soon and living in my hideout. Maybe start my group to rebel against them." Scarlet said. "I'm on board with the rebellion but I don't know about the dropping out part. Also, I'd like to see your hideout." Jack said. "Really?" Scarlet asked surprised that someone would care. "Sure. Tomorrow?" Jack asked. "Sounds great." Scarlet said.

Scarlet's Hideout (The Next Day)

Jack takes a walk and notices that Scarlet is gone and nowhere to be seen in the alleyway until she peeks her head out of a portal to check if the coast is clear. She spotted Jack. "Come on." She said. Jack follows her inside the hideout. But he was being watched by the flame squad. "What's he doing there?" Zack asked with anger. Jack entered the hideout. "This is it." Scarlet said. It was the equivalent of a fort made from pillows and blankets with nice lights. Scarlet showed Jack her Halloween toy. The toy jumpscares Jack and he gets startled. Jack laughed it off with Scarlet. "So this is where you go in a time when you need peace?" Jack asked. "Mhm." Scarlet nodded. "How old are you?" Jack asked. "14." Scarlet said. "And you're being tortured this much?" Jack asked concerned. "Yea. Like I said I'm not proud of it. I don't consider Zack a leader as much as he is a threat to anyone and everyone." Scarlet said. "So what got you into this mess?" Jack asked.

Scarlet's Backstory

"It's gonna sound crazy but I'm a late bloomer so my fire powers didn't show up immediately. Because when I was little, my home was attacked by my kind of people. My mom got burned, and so did my brother and my sister. All that's left is my dad and he did not make it better. Neither did Zack. I joined the Flame Squad because I thought I'd finally be useful. But it's only to make Zack look good. For all of us to be nothing more than his doormat, A throne to sit on. A necklace to wear." Scarlet Ranted.

End of Backstory

Jack was shocked by how much she's been through. Just when the situation couldn't get worse, Zack and the rest of his team found the hideout. "What's this dump?" Zack asked. "How did you find me?" Scarlet asked in fear. "I know a fire portal when I see one." Zack said. "He's been watching us." Jack said. "Come on, This is not the time to socialize." Zack said. "Especially with... Jack of all people." One of the members said. "I like how you paused in between that sentence that's... clever." Jack said. Then Jack drop-kicked Zack through the other side of the portal into the alleyway and started fighting the flame squad one by one. "GO HOME!!" Jack yelled at Scarlet. Scarlet tried to run home but Zack blocked her, picked her up by the neck, and threw her into a wall. Jack sees Scarlet in pain and the rage builds. The flame squad all rushed to him. Then out of pure instinct, Jack built up his demon energy and blasted one of the members. Everyone froze. "How the fuck did I do that?" Jack asked being very confused about his new powers. The black and red aura surrounded his hands. Then he looked at the flame squad and smiled very deviously. Everyone still ran towards him not knowing that they ran towards their death. Jack deflected everything and went past everyone. When they all started to run back to Jack he started thinking. "I wonder what else I can do." He thought to himself. Jack put two fingers up together, and then he jokingly pointed to the left, at that moment he discovered his telekinesis. He pointed left and the whole team was thrown to the wall. Jack was standing there shocked. Zack gets up and emits fire from his hands. Jack and Zack ran to attack each other. Jack choke slams Zack into a wall so fast that he fractured his spine on impact. He looks at Zack with a menacing look. After a couple of seconds, Zack lost air and fainted. Jack let go and watched his body fall. To make sure he was fully down, Jack stomped on him.

The Mall

Jack and the shadows always spend the rest of the afternoon hanging out. They go to a jewelry store to make themselves look shiny. "What about this one?" Alana asked. "Nah, fire is not my element." Isaiah said. "Speaking of, has anyone heard from Jack?" Lizi asked. Everyone shrugged. At that moment, Jack entered the store. "I figured you would be here." Jack said. "Where were you?" Lizi asked. "I simply fought fire with fire." Jack said. "You fought Zack?" Alana asked. Jack nodded. "It's about time he got his ass whooped." Lizi said. "Yeah, he just ran up on me a scarlet." Jack said. "Who's Scarlet?" Alana asked. "A fire user planning to rebel against Zack and Peyton's backward rules." Jack said. "Sounds like something I would do." Lizi said. "What's the thing with Zack and why does he force people into believing that fire is the superior element even though it's not?" Jack asked. "Mainly because of a bunch of racist shit that happened in the past. Well... according to the supreme leader of the fire clan of course." Isaiah said.

Jack being confused went on about his day and decided to investigate further.
