(Chapter 4) Hevania Prom

Hevania Prom is a formal dance or an annual get-together held by the principal as a celebration of the previous year.

Dismissal Time

As Jack, Lizi, and Alana were walking and talking they observed a girl with headphones. She was getting harassed by a group of fire users. 2 held her back while 1 of them burned her backpack. Afterwards, they all walk away with clean grins on their faces. "That was mean." Lizi said. Jack walks up to the girl as she puts out the fire. "Hey." Jack said. The girl was in a mix of sadness and nervousness to speak. "I'm sorry about what happened." Jack said. "It's alright." The girl said. "I'm Jack." He said. "Kyria." She said. "That's a nice name." Jack said. "Yours isn't so bad either." Jack said. As he was going to walk away, the girl built up the courage to ask him the question. "While I have you here, I... have something to ask you." Kyria said. "Go ahead." Jack said. "Do you want to go to the prom with me?" Kyria asked. Jack was surprised when he heard Kyria's Request. "Sure." Jack said. Kyria was surprised by his answer so much so that she was blushing. "Later." Jack said. Kyria walked away blushing.

The Designer Outlet
After School

Jack went to the designer outlet after school to look around for a good suit with a good price for the prom. He sees Kyria there. Jack immediately turns around out of nervousness and Kyria is standing there. Jack was startled. Kyria hugged Jack not giving him time to react. "You're here." Jack said awkwardly.  "Yea. I'm looking for a dress." Kyria said. "Why are you so nervous?" Kyria asked in a teasing voice. "He's so cute. It's like he forgot how to speak." Kyria said internally. "I'll see you at prom." Kyria said softly as she purchased her dress and left the store. Jack fell in love with her at that moment.

The MoonVale Household

Jack goes to Kyria's house to pick her up. The father answers the door. He was a studious man with a collared shirt and short hair. "I'm here for your daughter." Jack said. "Sure. Of course. Come in." The father said. They walk into the house past the hanging pictures. "Are you an athlete, boy?" The dad asked. "I'd rather not play sports." Jack said. "Do you plan on going to university?" The dad asked. "That is undecided at this point." Jack said. "How did you meet my daughter?" The dad asked. "She asked ME out." Jack said. "Alright, I'm ready." Kyria said from upstairs. She walks downstairs in her prom attire. The lavender dress was shiny and Kyria's face glistened in the light with only her natural hair. Jack was mesmerized. "That looks beautiful." Jack said. "Thanks." Kyria said smiling. "Alright then. Have a good night." The Mom said.

Hevania Prom

The prom was being held at the church across from the school. Half the girls wore dresses and the rest wore skin-tight dresses. The men just wore tuxedos. Jack and Kyria walked in. "OK. You look dapper." Lizi said. "Thanks." Jack said. "Is that your future wife?" Isaiah asked. "She is." Jack answered as Kyria blushed at his response. "What a happy couple. The grim reaper and his little princess." Zack said. "Shut up for once in your life." Kyria said silently. "You know, Having a tiara on your scalp, doesn't make you a queen." Zack said. "Just ignore him. Let's get drinks." Jack said.

Hevania Prom Election

Moments later, the principal announces the prom king and queen. "Attention, please. It's time for the results of your votes. This year the title of prom king and queen will go to kids who received the most accolades and respect throughout our community and those people are.... Zack Blazer and Peyton Darkwood. "As it should be." Peyton said internally. Everyone cheers and is proud of them for their success. "I don't see the big thing about this anyway." Jack said. "Yea. The whole school is just one big popularity contest anyways." Kyria said.

Hevania Prom (Afterparty)

Jack and Kyria were talking about the nonsense of society and how Zack and Peyton are in charge of being terrible influencers. Zack overheard and decided to intervene. "Just so you know, respect is given and not earned." Zack said. "Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?" Jack asked confused. "Shut up." Peyton said aggressively. "Lower your voice. Where did you come from?" Jack asked. "I am not going to allow you or your little succubus to be all jealous because I have a good reputation around here." Zack said. "No one likes you." Lizi said from a distance. "Shut up you fatherless bitch." Peyton said. "What the fuck did you just say?!" Lizi asked getting angry at Zack. Lucky for him, the rest of the shadows were holding Lizi back. Peyton leaned forward to go face-to-face with Kyria. "We were completely fine until you came into the picture. Who am I kidding, this is probably not the first time you've heard those words." Peyton said. Jack pushes Peyton away from Kyria and his anger rises. Jack has an aggressive mindset that gets triggered by hatred. "You have 5 seconds to take that back." Jack said. "Look at you, acting tough, knowing damn well that you're not gonna do anything." Peyton said. "And what makes you think that?" Jack asked. "Because I'm a girl." Peyton said. Jack was now feeling a mixture of confusion and anger because of that comment. The anger outweighed the confusion and it could not be contained. That anger then turned into rage. Jack started choking Peyton. He squeezed her throat harder every second. Peyton proceeded to attempt to gasp for breath as she knelt out of weakness. The shadows walked to Jack to stop him. They got his arm off Peyton's neck. "Let's go." Alana said. Jack then walked away looking at Peyton on the floor in the corner of his eyes.

Hevania Prom (Outside)

Kyria started tearing up as she sat down on the bench where there was a clear view of the street. It was night time so the lights shined as bright as ever. Jack sees Kyria and begins to be genuinely worried about her. "I don't know what that was about." Kyria said. "Yeah, I... lost myself." Jack said as he sat down with her. "My Mom seemed to be enough for my dad until I came into the picture." Kyria said.

Kyria's Backstory

"My mom almost died giving birth to me and my dad has been paranoid ever since. He has a smile on his face whenever you're around but behind closed doors, he is a fucking monster. One time he choked me so hard that my neck bone cracked. I've been admitted into the moonlight clan and that was fun... for the time being. I've never been invited to any parties, gatherings, any meetings. My dad always had a vendetta against them because they betrayed my grandma. And all of that led to right now." Kyria said.

End Of Backstory

"Ok, that's sad." Jack said. "The city looks nice from here." Kyria said. "If that's been the case then I hope you don't mind me asking but.. out of all of the other demons in this school.. why did you pick me?" Jack asked. "Because I'm an outcast. So seeing you being looked at as an outcast is one of the biggest amounts of relief I've ever felt." Kyria said. "How come?" Jack asked. "Because now... I know I'm not alone." Kyria said tearing up again. Jack then comforted her with a hug. "You are honestly one of the kindest souls I've ever known in this school and I would love to spend the rest of my time with you and get to know you a lot better." Jack said. "SO WITH THAT BEING SAID!!" Jack said with a lot of energy and enthusiasm to make Kyria feel better. "I would love for you to be my girlfriend." Jack said looking at Kyria face to face. Kyria then gave Jack a very big hug. Afterwards, they locked eyes for a moment, then they kissed for the first time. They let go while still holding each other and they smiled at each other.

Jack and Kyria's romantic relationship began. They wore matching jewelry and enjoyed simple physical affection. They were happy to have each other and that's what mattered most to them.
