— MJ'S P.O.V —

Chris and I were at the park earlier with grandpa, now we were on a restaurant. He was the one who took us since he didn't have anything to do for the weekends so they decided to go to our house and dad agreed for grandpa to take us to the park.

Grandma was with him too, but she didn't want to come with us and said she would just cook dinner for us.

I really liked her. She was so kind to me, and accepted me with all of her heart. Same as grandpa, he was spending a lot of time with us, and we were getting to know each other.

"MJ!" Christopher called me.

I was on our table while grandpa ordered deserts for the three of us.

"There you go," He gave me a strawberry ice cream that was in a bowl with a spoon on it. "Your favorite." He smiled at me.

"How did.. you know?" I asked him.

I didn't tell anyone about my favorite food before..

"Oh, I just saw you eating a lot of strawberries that I brought earlier and guessed that strawberry might be your favorite flavor." He said.

"Oh.. thanks." I smiled at him.

"And here's for you, Chris." He gave him a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

"So, I was right when I guessed that your favorite flavor is strawberry?" Chris asked me.

I chuckled and said, "Yeah, I guess I kinda lied to you. But now that you know, you can treat me to an ice cream shop on monday since there's a close ice cream place from our school." I teased.

"You got it." Chris chuckled.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, why not." He shrugged his shoulders and started eating his ice cream.

"You two had really gone close." Grandpa said.

"Why won't we?" Chris asked.

"Well, because you're not–"

"Because we're not biological siblings?" Christopher continued his sentence.

"Yeah." Grandpa nodded.

Chris looked at me. I signed him to speak and he nodded.

"Grandpa, even if we're not siblings by blood and we don't have the same color of skin, we're siblings by heart. That's what we always say to someone who asks us the same question." Christopher explained as he smiled at me.

I smiled at his reply to him.

"That's good. I hope your bond will last forever." He smiled at us. "Start eating your ice cream before it melts."

EDDIE'S P.O.V —

"Mom–" I stopped when I walked into my house and smelled something good in the kitchen.

"Are you cooking, mom?" I walked into the kitchen and Buck was behind me.

"Yeah."

"I told you, leave my kitchen alone, mom." I chuckled.

"No. You leave me alone."

Buck let out a chuckle.

"Who's that for?" I asked her.

"For your dad and the kids." She said, still cooking.

"Mom, I told you, you don't have to cook. They probably have eaten outside already." I said, rubbing her shoulders.

She stopped, put the spoon she was using to taste the food and turned to me.

"Don't you think we're over sharing with her?"

I frowned at her question.

Here we go again..

"I mean, you let her meet your friends, stay at home when you don't really know her that much and now you let them go out."

"What's over sharing with that?" I asked her.

"Well, like I said, you don't know her that much, yet."

"Mom, I adopted her and she's staying at this house so we can get to know her."

— MJ'S P.O.V —

We just got home. I was the first one to enter the house. Grandpa and Chris were still getting out of the car, since we were playing on who was the first one to get into the house.

We were having fun.

I entered the house. I was just right by the door when I heard dad and grandma talking– or maybe fighting. Because I could hear them yell. I couldn't help but to eavesdrop.

"But you don't even know her parents or where she came from!" I heard grandma shouted.

It sounded like they were fighting...

"It doesn't matter, mom. She's staying here!" Dad said back.

About me...?

"Do not yell back to me, Eddie. I'm still your mother."

"But you're being unreasonable, mom! MJ's staying here, whether you like it or not."

"Eddie, please. Stop." Buck spoke up. "With all due respect, MJ is no harm to us or to Christopher. Eddie is a great dad and he'll raise MJ well, He'll raise both of them just fine. So please, can we just take a beat and talk about this in a calm way."

"Don't you tell me what to do or not, this is a mother and son talk." Grandma said to Buck out of anger.

I peeped in to see what was going on. Buck was behind dad while grandma was standing in front of them.

"Don't talk to him like that, mom." Dad said seriously.

"Sorry. But maybe you shouldn't be interrupting our talk here."

"Mom!" Dad stopped her again.

Buck turned around, raised his hands in surrender and walked out of the kitchen.

"Buck.. Buck." Dad tried to stop him, but he couldn't.

"Mom, you didn't have to yell at him too!" Dad immediately turned to mom.

I was so focused on them that I didn't notice Buck was going on my way.

"M-MJ.." He said.

I saw dad and grandma turned to us when they heard Buck spoke.

"Hi.." I gave him a little wave.

"Hey, MJ. Why are you–" Grandpa stopped when him and Chris walked into the door.

I looked at dad and tears started to build up in my eyes as I looked at grandma, I ran to my room and closed the door. I slammed myself onto the bed and cried.

She hated me... dad's mom hated me!

I thought that the past few days we were good because she was so kind to me even though I heard her talking about me to dad when I first met her.

I just thought that it was a normal reaction for them because it was their first time meeting me. But it turns out, she really hated when I'm around.

"MJ.." I heard a knock on the door. It was dad. "MJ, please open the door."

I shook my head while muffling my cries using my pillow.

"MJ, please. Don't do this.. Open the door for me, please?" Dad knocked again.

I wanted to let him in but I didn't really want to talk to anyone right now.
