It's been two days since Leo's birthday, so it's July 10th, Alice and I have been together for a little over a week and we haven't been on a proper date yet so I was thinking we could do that tonight. I hope either Camilla and Francesco or Alice parents can babysit Leo for a few hours...
I watch as Leo plays in the sand just a couple of feet from us, while Alice and I are peacefully laying on our towels. "So I was thinking..." "Mhm" she mumbles turning her body towards me "You and I still haven't gone on a date...would you like to go in one tonight?" "I'd love nothing more..." "Yay!" "Goof..." "Do you think either Camilla or your parents could like babysit Leo for dinner a couple of hours?" "Of course, even the whole night...don't know what you e got planned..." "Uhm as of right now nothing cause I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date before planning..." I tell her softly caressing her cheek "but uhm there's a few nice little restaurants around here so that maybe and then a walk?" "Sounds good to me! Do you want Leo to stay at my parents for the night too?" "You choose doll, I'm good to go pick him up after our date...I wanted to keep things slow, so unless you have other plans for us during the night I can pick him up" "Thanks for being considerate" "Of course" I tell her before kissing her head "so we can dress pretty and go to dinner, have some dessert and take a walk and while you're home getting ready for bed I'll go pick Leo up" "It's a plan" "It's a plan!"
We stay on the beach until after lunch time, we played in the sand and in the waves and had tons of fun. Once home we all showered and Alice took some extra time to do her hair real pretty and all for the night while Leo and I started reading one of the comic books I had gifted him for his fifth birthday. "Oh that must be your nonno!" (Grandpa) I say lifting Leo off of me and also hearing Alice coming down the stairs as I go open the front door. "Hello Sebastian" "Hi Bruno" I say shaking hands with him and letting him in so he can see Alice and Leo.
"So date night..." "Yup" Alice answers her father smiling as she puts Leo's shoes on "Hope you guys have fun" "Thanks Bruno, I'll text when I'm ready to come pick up Leo" "Ok, later" "Bye baby" Alice says kissing Leo's head "Bye mamma, bye Sebby!" "Bye champ!"
When it's about 6.30 we start to get ready in our rooms. I trim my beard a little so I only have a light stubble and style my hair, that takes me half an hour cause I didn't know how to style them...why am I like this??? Once finally I like how my hair is I choose what to wear, picking up a shirt first, it's a green shirt and then pick some black pants and a pair of shoes that aren't too elegant but not too sporty... I take my time getting dressed and then once I'm satisfied with my look I spray some cologne and I'm all done. Teaching the living room I see that Alice has put her bag on the coffee table and it seems like that one is ready to go, but of her no signs yet, which is good cause I'm five minutes the florist will deliver her flowers... So as I wait for him I make sure I have my things in my pocket like my wallet. I ended up booking a table for us in a nice fish restaurant not too far from our house so we're gonna walk there and then take a nice walk in the beach by night...
"Grazie!" I say to the florist as I pay him for the sunflowers bouquet "Buona serata!" (Have a good evening!) I close the door and as I turn I see Alice walking down the stairs and it takes my breath away... "Jesus doll..." "Like it?" "That dress suits you so good, you're...you're breathtaking Alice!" I take my time scanning over her perfect figure, that sundress fitting her like a glove, the light make up she did is also perfect and her hair is cascading over her shoulders really nice. "You look handsome Sebastian" she tells me as she keeps blushing from my comment "Thanks...these are for you..." I tell her as I reach her and handing her the bouquet "How did you know?" "Just guessed...these other day when we were in Rome we passed a florist and you kept staring at the sunflowers so I thought you might like them...lucky me you do..." "Thank you" she says grabbing them from me and giving me a thought hug and a kiss in the cheek "You're welcome" "I'll just out these in a vase and then we'll go ok?"
We reach the restaurant right on time and we make our order. I'm really happy that I chose this restaurant cause the dinner was really really good and so was the dessert, not to talk about our waiter and the staff in general, everyone was very kind.

After paying for our dinner I took Alice's hand and led her down to the beach, where she took off her heels so she could walk better on the golden sand. "I hope you're liking this date" "I'm loving it all Sebastian" "I'm really glad" "Are you?" "Best date ever" "I'm happy with you Sebastian" "I'm happy with you too Alice..." We spend a few moments looking at each other and then a few minutes just kissing and hugging in the middle of the beach.
Once we decide our day is over I walk her home then go pick Leo up. "He's sleeping..." Elisa tells me "It's ok, I'll pick him up, it's just a five minutes walk" "Ok" While Bruno went to grab Leo, Elisa and I stopped to talk for a couple of minutes "So how did it go?" "Best date ever as I told Alice" "I'm glad you two found each other, she needs someone like you, they both do" "Just as much as I need them" I tell her and she gives me a tight hug "Here he is" Bruno says whispering as he passes me Leo "Thanks for watching him, night" "Night"
In five minutes I'm home and Alice and I out Leo in bed and then after getting ready for bed myself I join her in her room "Night doll" I tell her as she's already half asleep "Night amore" she mumbles as she's cuddled up to my shoulder I'm a little star struck cause I know what amore means, she uses it with Leo and it means love... Rest assured I fell asleep with the biggest smile on my face!

I also wanted to spend a few words...I don't know if I have American readers, but I'd like to "talk" with the Floridians ones or people that have significant others living in Florida or have any sort of attachment to Florida, and really also in general to American readers if I have some...the natural disaster that is about to come in contact, and that in certain zones has already came in contact cause I know there are some cities that are already facing floods...I wanted to spend a few words on this subject, from human to human... I'm deeply sorry for what has happened not many days ago, and what is happening right now, I can't imagine what it feels like to have to abandon everything without knowing if your house is still gonna be there or if you'll see your neighbors ever again. I'm gonna keep you in my thoughts and I hope that Hurricane Milton won't destroy everything, even if right now things look really scary.
