Jade's POV

It had been a few days since the concert, but I still felt the lingering energy from it. Sometimes, after a show like that, it's hard to come down from the high. The lights, the crowd, the adrenaline—it all sticks with you, echoing in your head long after you've left the stage.

But this time, there was something else. I couldn't stop thinking about Nicholas.

I hadn't expected him to make such an impression, and yet, here I was, replaying that short interaction in my mind, like it was more than just a standard meet-and-greet. It wasn't supposed to feel like anything special, right? Just another fan interaction, another photo op. But somehow, it was.

I sat by the massive floor-to-ceiling windows in my living room, the L.A. skyline spread out in front of me. The house was quiet, and the morning sun streamed through, casting golden light across the marble floors. My coffee sat half-drunk on the table beside me, forgotten as I scrolled through my phone.

Leslie had already sent me the day's schedule. Rehearsals, a meeting with the team to discuss the next leg of the tour, and some press stuff. Business as usual. But my mind wasn't fully on the chaos that lay ahead.

It kept drifting back to Nicholas.

The buzz of my phone snapped me out of my thoughts, and I glanced down. A new message appeared on the screen, and my heart did this stupid little flip when I saw his name.

Nicholas Galitzine.

I opened the message, trying to keep my cool.

Hey, Jade. It's Nicholas. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time the other night after the concert. Your performance was incredible, and it was really nice to meet you. Hope you're doing well. — N

I stared at the message for a second longer than necessary. Casual, friendly. Nothing more than a polite follow-up.

So why was my heart racing?

I quickly typed out a response, trying not to overthink it.

Thanks, Nicholas! It was great meeting you too. Glad you enjoyed the show. 😊

I put my phone down and took a deep breath, leaning back into the plush couch. The mansion felt too quiet, too empty sometimes, even with the view of the city sprawling out below me. You'd think a place like this would feel more alive, but it didn't—not when my mind was buzzing with everything that had happened in the past few days.

I shook my head and took another sip of my coffee, trying to focus on what I had to do today. Rehearsal was in an hour, and I needed to get my head in the game.

Just as I reached for my phone to check the time, it buzzed again.

Another message from Nicholas.

Yeah, I wasn't just saying that. I've been to a few of your shows, but this one felt... different. You really put everything out there. It was pretty amazing to see.

I smiled, feeling the warmth spread through me at the compliment. He had a way of making it sound like more than just words.

Thanks, that means a lot. 😊 I try to make every show special, but this tour has been something else. Nonstop rehearsals, performances, and everything in between.

His response came almost instantly.

I bet. It must be exhausting, but you don't show it. You make it look effortless.

I laughed softly, shaking my head as I typed back.

Trust me, it's not. I'm dying by the end of every show. 😂
