Jade's POV
A year. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since everything fell apart, only for Nick and me to piece ourselves back together. In so many ways, we're different now, yet stronger for everything we've endured. It hasn't been perfect—nothing ever is—but it's been real, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I think back to the time when we almost lost everything, the pain we both went through, and how far we've come. Every argument, every tear, every apology—it was all worth it to stand here, knowing I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with.
The last year has been about rebuilding, not just our relationship, but ourselves. Nick had thrown himself into his work, and his latest movie, which had wrapped a couple of months ago, was already buzzing with Oscar buzz. He was proud of it, and so was I. But he was even prouder of how far we had come.
As for me, I had been working on something deeply personal: my latest album, Short N' Sweet. It was a reflection of everything I had been through—the heartbreak, the healing, the growth. The music felt raw and honest, each track a piece of my soul that I was ready to share with the world. And now, the tour was fast approaching. In just one month, I'd be hitting the road for a full year, bringing Short N' Sweet to life for my fans.
This tour was different from anything I'd done before. It was bold, intimate, and unapologetically me. And this time, I wouldn't be doing it alone.
Nick had been with me through every step of the process, offering his support without hesitation. I hadn't been surprised when he asked to come along on the tour—not after everything we'd been through. After spending so much time apart in the past, it felt natural that he wanted to be by my side. He didn't want to miss a single moment, and honestly, I couldn't imagine doing this without him.
"I'd love to be there with you, Jade, especially after all that happened," he had said, his eyes soft and sincere. "I know it's your show, your moment, but I want to be there to support you, and not miss a single beat of the show."
His words weren't just comforting; they filled me with a sense of completeness. This wasn't about him following me around. It was about us being together, through everything—good or bad.
After talking with my team, I got the green light. Nick would be with me for the entire year-long tour, and the thought of sharing that experience with him made everything feel even more special. We were stronger now—stronger than ever.
The stage design for the Short N' Sweet tour was unlike anything I had done before. It was a grand, sweeping set that resembled the balcony of a mansion, with two elegant staircases on each side. At the bottom right of the stage was a circular bed, draped in red, furry bed sheets and surrounded by sheer white curtains. The bed wasn't just a visual prop—it was where I planned to perform some of the most intimate, personal songs of the night.
On the left side of the stage was a fake fireplace, giving the set a cozy, intimate feel. There were cushions spread out on the ground in front of it, where I'd sit down with my guitar to perform a stripped-down acoustic set, making it feel like I was sharing stories with friends rather than performing in front of thousands of fans. Above it all, hidden by another sheer curtain, the band would be playing live, creating a perfect harmony of music and atmosphere.
This tour wasn't just a series of concerts. It was an experience—one that I hoped would leave my fans feeling as though they had walked through every emotion I had poured into my songs.
As the days until the tour kicked off counted down, rehearsals consumed most of my time. Every detail had to be perfect—the choreography, the set transitions, the costumes. It was exhausting, but exhilarating. I wanted to make sure that when the curtain lifted on the first night, everything would be flawless.
