Jade's POV
-Flashback-
I looked at myself in the mirror as my make-up and hair team worked around me, the excitement for tonight buzzing through my veins. I was getting ready for the Golden Globes, an event that had always felt like a distant dream, but here I was, living it. The black sheer dress hugged my body perfectly, the delicate fabric draping elegantly while still showing just enough skin to make a statement. My hair was swept up into a messy updo, giving me a carefree yet polished look. My make-up was bold—smokey eyes, sharp wings—paired with a subtle nude lip that tied everything together.
The moment my team stepped back, their job done, I stood up and gave myself a final look in the full-length mirror. The reflection staring back at me was confident, poised, and ready for whatever the night would bring.
"Thank you all so much," I said with a smile, offering a small wave as I left the room, my heels clicking softly on the hardwood floor.
As I descended the stairs of my house, my gaze found Nick waiting at the bottom, looking as sharp as ever in a classic black tuxedo. The past three months had been a whirlwind since we had reconciled, but each day, things were feeling more and more like they were falling back into place. He had moved in with me, and we had settled into a new rhythm together, rebuilding what we had lost.
His eyes widened when he saw me, his lips parting slightly. There was a brief, stunned silence before I reached the bottom step, standing in front of him.
"Well?" I asked, striking a playful pose with my hand on my hip, a teasing smile playing on my lips.
Nick's composure returned in an instant, and he pulled me in, his hand finding its familiar place on my waist. "You look... exactly like the day we met," he said, his voice a low murmur against my ear. "Breathtaking."
I couldn't help but laugh as I leaned in for a soft kiss. "I'm so stealing that for a song," I teased, pulling back just enough to see the mischievous glint in his eyes.
-End of Flashback-
I chuckled to myself as I stepped onto the stage, the memory of that night lingering in my mind. The opening notes of "Bed Chem" started playing through the speakers, sending a thrill through my body. Nick hadn't heard this song yet, but I was certain he'd remember exactly where the inspiration came from the moment he did.
The stage was set, my team was buzzing around in preparation for the first rehearsal of my upcoming world tour, Short N' Sweet. Every detail had been meticulously planned, and I had poured my heart into this project. The setup was bold, daring—just like the album. The bed on stage, draped in red, furry bedsheets, had been a bold choice, but it perfectly captured the intimate, playful energy of the songs. It was cheeky, sexy, and unapologetic—everything I wanted this tour to be.
My mind drifted to "Juno," another song that held so much meaning. I would be performing it on the center heart-shaped platform that would rise during the show. The sensual choreography was all in good fun, but that song still held a special place in my heart—after all, it was written for Nick before everything went to hell. The lyrics, especially the part where I sing "Wanna try out some freaky positions? Have you ever tried this one?" made me laugh now, knowing the playfulness it would bring to the stage. The fans were going to eat it up.
As I watched the stage crew finalize the last details, my phone buzzed in my hand, pulling me from my thoughts. I glanced down at the screen, expecting another update from the team, but instead, it was a message from Nick.
Nick: Can't wait for your first rehearsal! Miss you like crazy. Meet you after?
I smiled, a warmth spreading through me. Even with everything we'd been through, Nick's support meant the world to me. He couldn't be here today, not for the rehearsals—Bed Chem was off-limits to him until showtime. But the thought of seeing him afterward made me giddy in a way that still surprised me, even after all this time.
