Siddharth paces around his small apartment, his mind racing with thoughts of Avneet. He keeps replaying their conversation over and over in his head, kicking himself for almost saying something he knows he shouldn't have.
Siddharth: (thinking) What are you doing, Siddharth? You can't let this happen.
He's tried to convince himself that it's just a professional connection, that what he feels is respect and admiration for her intelligence and drive. But deep down, he knows it's more than that. It's in the way he looks forward to their conversations, the way his chest tightens when she smiles at him, the way he's been losing sleep thinking about her.
Siddharth: (frustrated) This is wrong. She's my student.
He sinks down onto the couch, running a hand through his hair. He knows the risks, the consequences of acting on these feelings. It could ruin both their careers, their reputations. But despite all the logical reasons to stay away, his heart pulls him toward her. She's different-bright, fearless, and endlessly fascinating.
Siddharth: (quietly) I can't let myself cross that line.
But even as he says it, he knows it's already too late. His heart is involved, and there's no easy way out.
