Later that evening, Avneet sits on the balcony of her apartment, staring out at the city lights. Her thoughts drift back to Siddharth, to the conversation they had earlier. There was something in his eyes, something unsaid-but she knows what it is.
She's been denying it for weeks, but the truth is becoming harder to ignore. She cares about him. More than just a professor, more than just a mentor. There's something deeper-something that scares her as much as it excites her.
Avneet: (thinking to herself) This isn't supposed to happen. I'm not supposed to feel this way about him.
She sighs, leaning back against the chair on her balcony. The cool evening breeze brushes against her skin, but it does little to calm the storm inside her. Avneet knows it's not just admiration anymore. The way Siddharth looks at her, the way she feels when she's around him-it's more than she can rationalize.
Avneet: (murmuring) But I do.
She admits it to herself, finally. She's falling for him. Despite everything-the boundaries, the complications, the fact that he's her professor-she can't deny the feelings that have been building. And from the way he looks at her, she wonders if maybe... just maybe, he feels the same.
But even with this realization, a part of her is afraid. What if it's all in her head? What if she's misreading the signs? And even if he does feel the same, what happens then? They're from different worlds-he's her professor, for one thing, and their relationship would never be accepted by others.
Avneet: (thinking) I need to figure this out.
