Taylor's POV:
The first day of your rehearsals is always everyone's favorite. Most of the day is spent playing get to know each other games and starting to understand the layout of the stage and the setlist. After a brief introduction and a few ice breakers we planned to have lunch before starting to map out the stage and who will be Included in each song.
I have one main dancer, this person is in almost every song unless it's a solo song and they tend to have the hardest job. They have just about as much time to do an outfit change as me and have probably about 5 songs on the entire set list that they aren't included in. For this tour I chose my main dancer to be a dancer called April Dibrina who hosts dance classes in Wisconsin and has previous Broadway experience too.
13 Management were absolutely blown away by her audition and talent so she was immediately put at the top of my list. I briefly spoke to her at the start of rehearsal, however she seemed stressed and has constantly been on the phone looking worried and telling someone that she doesn't know what to do because she doesn't want to lose her job working for me.
Eventually at lunch I noticed it happened again so I left my space on the sofa next to Travis and Ellie and headed over. I waited patiently for her to be done before tapping her on the shoulder. Her entire body flinched and she desperately tried to turn off her phone, nervous that she was late and her lunch break had finished without realizing. I couldn't help but notice her lockscreen of herself and what seemed to be her boyfriend and two kids. She's quite young so either she had them very young or they are definitely adopted in some way.

"Hey is everything okay? You've looked stressed today. Are those yours?" I asked her, gesturing to the phone.
"Oh um kinda yeah it's a little complicated." She replied, taking a glance at her lockscreen before looking up at me. I nodded and gave her a warm smile.
"Complicated families are always the best. I've got two. One of them I see as a sister she's actually a dancer. She's over there with Travis. My little Harper is in a complicated situation though. This is her first day without any of us around in a while and I just know it's probably not going well." I explained. I pointed over to Ellie and gave her a little wave before turning back to April.
No matter how kind and caring I was being Aprils worry and stress didn't seem to fade. I noticed her shifting her feet every now and then and trying to look around at others. I'm not sure if she was scared to tell me the truth about what was going on or if she just didn't understand why I chose to speak to her in specific. I didn't exactly want to be scaring her.
