16. Playful Kiss

Wei Wuxian picks up Lan Wangji in his arms and carries him through the Bloom Lotus Courtyard to his room where he places omega on the bed.

Lan Wangji is pouting as he examines his injured knee, a few drops of blood peek through his trouser then he turns to Wei Wuxian with a sad expression.

Lan Wangji is pouting, "Wei Wuxian, can I go with you to the border? I can’t focus here without you."

Wei Wuxian rolls his eyes dramatically, his expression playful yet serious.

Wei Wuxian is teasing, "Little Demon, do you really think people go to the border for fun? It’s dangerous. There could be attacks any time. Only alpha soldiers are sent there because omegas have to stay safe."

Lan Wangji’s pout deepens as he shifts slightly on the bed, glancing at his knee.

Lan Wangji is sighing, "But I feel so bored here."

Wei Wuxian’s expression softens as he can’t resist the urge to help his friend then with a quick motion, he scoops Lan Wangji into his arms.

Wei Wuxian is smiling, "Fine, Little Demon. I’ll carry you to the courtyard. At least you can enjoy the flowers."

As Wei Wuxian carries Lan Wangji, he chats casually.

Wei Wuxian says, "You know, I might just drop you if you keep pouting like that."

Lan Wangji chuckles softly, despite his injury, he is playfully asking, "You wouldn’t dare."

When they reach the blooming lotus courtyard, Wei Wuxian sets Lan Wangji down gently on a bench and he kneels beside him to check the injury.

Wei Wuxian is seriously, "Let’s see how bad it is. You need to take care of yourself, Little Demon."

As Wei Wuxian cleans the wound, Lan Wangji watches him intently.

Lan Wangji is smiling while uttering, "Did you know that Song Lan really likes me? His cousins, Song Qiu and Song Sheng, told me today."

Wei Wuxian raises an eyebrow, trying to hide his jealousy but he is mocking surprise, "Oh really? Should I start preparing sweets for your big celebration?"

Lan Wangji blushes slightly, clearly enjoying the attention then he is pouting again, "Today, Song Lan accidentally kissed my cheek. right in front of his cousins. I was so embarrassed."

Wei Wuxian’s expression darkens slightly, feeling a pang of jealousy so he is crossing his arms.

Wei Wuxian says with anger expressions on his face, "You’re acting like it’s a big achievement. I’ve told you many times to stay away from other alphas."

Lan Wangji looks down, sensing Wei Wuxian’s irritation but he is arguing defensively, "I get bored here. No one else plays with me. I need friends."

Wei Wuxian shakes his head, trying to suppress a smile, "Friends? Or trouble? One day, you’ll regret hanging out with them."

After finishing with the bandage, Wei Wuxian stands up, hands on his hips.

Wei Wuxian is teasingly, "And if anything happens, I’m not responsible. You’ll have to deal with those alpha friends alone."

Lan Wangji laughs softly, feeling more relaxed so he murmurs, "But you’re my good friend, Wei Wuxian. I’d rather be here with you."
