After a dark night of great loss, the sun has just begun to rise over the Qishan sect, casting a golden hue across the misty landscape as Wen Chao and his troop of soldiers arrive at the Jiang clan's guest wing.

The Wen army marches forward purposefully, with suspicious looks on their faces as memories of the explosion at the Wen Palace are still fresh in their minds and tensions are high among the rest of the clans.

Wen Chao stands with an air of authority as he begins his search as Princess Wen Qing is deeply grieved over the death of her elder brother Wen Xu.

Wen Chao glances at Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji who are gathered in the main hall.

Wen Qing is still in tears over her brother's death, but her fiancé Jiang Cheng is still supporting her through her grief.

There is a palpable tension in the air in Wen’s hall room, with everyone on edge, knowing that the blame could fall on them at any moment.

Wen Chao’s voice reverberates through the hall room, shrill and demanding, “Where were you guys during the explosion? I need a clear explanation from each of you.”

Jiang Cheng, the sect leader, maintains that he was in his room discussing something with Wen Qing when they suddenly heard the massive explosion.

Although the burden of Wen Chao’s investigation is weighing on him, Wei Wuxian, ever the brave man, steps forward with a smile, belying the seriousness of the situation and speaks when it’s his turn.

Wen Chao questions Wei Wuxian to which he explains that he was fast asleep while resting in his room and his Omega was taking a warm bath to relieve his fatigue.

Wen Chao suddenly notices Lan Wangji who turns around with half of his face hidden.

Wen Chao asks, "Commander Wei, I want to see your omega's face because things are really serious right now."

Wei Wuxian crosses his arms and replies, "You don't need to see my omega's face unless you suspect us. When you asked your question I told you that at the time of the explosion I was fast asleep and my omega was taking a bath in warm water to relieve his fatigue."

Lan Wangji's face is partially hidden by the cloth so he remains silent, his sharp gaze fixed on Wen Chao.

An unspoken challenge hangs in the air between Wen Chao and Lan Wangji as the omega's suspicious identity still raises questions in everyone's minds.

A tacit acknowledgement of Wen Chao and Lan Wangji’s intertwined fate, though neither dares voice it.

A soldier breaks the tense silence as he enters the hall to say something that shocks everyone, “Young Master Wen, we have detected the smell of kerosene on Commander Wei’s omega’s clothing from his guest room. There are some stains on his omega’s clothing that match the granary walls which have been quickly washed to remove any evidence.”

Soldier Wen’s words are like a dagger piercing the fragile mask of trust, causing everyone outside the hall who have been listening intently to all the conversations to jump to their senses.

All eyes turn to Lan Wangji who is suddenly the center of attention and the prime suspect in a growing conspiracy.

Wei Wuxian's heart is pounding so fast he can feel the storm coming with the way suspicion is swirling around Lan Wangji.

Wen Chao's brow furrows and he steps closer to Lan Wangji, examining him as he asks in a stern voice, "Is that true? Do you have anything to do with the explosion?"
