25. The Conference of Qishan

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are approaching Lotus Pier when they receive a letter from Jiang Cheng about an urgent conference in Qishan.

Wei Wuxian is glancing at the letter, "Little Demon, look at this letter. Sect Leader Jiang wants me to go Qishan immediately."

Lan Wangji is frowning, "Qishan? That’s not safe for you, Wei Wuxian."

Wei Wuxian is smirking, "You know I can handle myself. Besides, what’s a little danger compared to the thrill of a good conference?"

Lan Wangji is crossing his arms, "You will not go to Qishan alone because I do not trust any alpha of the whole Wen sect at all because Wen Chao and Wen Rouhan can go back on their words at any time and harm anyone."

Wei Wuxian is playfully, "Since when do you worry so much about me even you know I'm a commander and I know how to keep myself safe but you have to go to Lotus Pier. I'll be back after the conference so you can't stay here for long so I'll send you back to Bloom Lotus Courtyard with Xue Yang."

Lan Wangji is seriously, "I will not go back to Lotus Pier alone at any cost, and I will go to Qishan to attend the conference with you."

Wei Wuxian gets angry because he never wants to put his omega’s life in danger so he sarcastically says, "You know what I mean. If they discover your identity, it will cause chaos."

Lan Wangji is sighing, "But you’re not going to leave me behind, are you?"

Wei Wuxian is shaking his head, "I will not. But I will not allow you to accompany me to Qishan unprepared."

Lan Wangji is teasingly, "So, what’s your grand plan? Wrap me in a cloak and hope for the best?"

Wei Wuxian is firmly, "You can wear a mask. It will conceal your identity."

Lan Wangji is raising an eyebrow, "A mask? You think that will work?"

Wei Wuxian is nodding so Lan Wangji replies, "It will be enough. I can cover my face as well."

Wei Wuxian is smiling softly, "You really are determined, aren’t you?"

Lan Wangji is stepping closer, "I cannot bear the thought of losing you."

Wei Wuxian is gently, "You won’t lose me. I promise I’ll be careful."

Lan Wangji is hesitant, "It’s not just about safety, Wei Wuxian. I need you to understand the risks."

Wei Wuxian is sincerely, "I understand. But if you think I’m going to sit here while you face danger alone, you’re mistaken."

Lan Wangji is sighing, reluctantly, "Then we will go together. But I must follow your lead."

Wei Wuxian is grinning, "As long as I’m with you, I’ll follow anywhere."

Lan Wangji is softening, "You are infuriating sometimes."

Wei Wuxian is playfully, "And yet you still love me."

Lan Wangji is quietly, "Yes, I do."

Wei Wuxian is seriously, "Then trust me. We’ll navigate this together."

Lan Wangji is nods, "Very well. But you must promise to be cautious."
