22 - Possessive

Yoko

Weeks passed after the incident. Cy is asking about her grandpa (my uncle) but we told her that his grandpa is not with us anymore. She was sad cos she thought my uncle had just gone somewhere. I can't tell her that his grandpa died cos she loves him.

Cy told us that when we went somewhere and asked her grandpa to take care of her. He gave Cy lots of toys and also brought her to the mall. He took care of my baby and not even once did he hurt Cy. Cy has lots of stories about him and all of it was a happy memory so Faye and I decided to keep a secret about what happened.

My wife and I are now getting ready cos tonight her company has an event and we are expected to come since Faye is receiving an award as The Most Influential CEO of the Year. I am so proud of Faye cos I know how hard she works to achieve this.

Faye told me about Neko but we can't find any photos of her. So, I asked Faye's assistant if she could introduce Neko to me when we are at the event. She agreed and told me that if I was still a photographer. A collaboration between me and Neko would be a hit. Especially if Faye was the model. I laughed at her suggestion and just thanked her.

We are now at the event and I am currently beside my wife who's too engrossed in talking to one of her colleagues. Her arms are wrapped around my waist and I love it. I excused her for a moment and told her I needed to go to the rest room and she said she'll accompany me but I told her I'll be fine and just wait for me here. She told me to be careful and I nodded.

I was washing my hands when a familiar figure went inside and went inside one of the cubicles. I was planning to wait for her to come out when I heard my phone ring and it was my wife. She said that the organizer asked her to get ready cos she'll be receiving the award soon.

I took a napkin wiped my hands and walked out of the restroom. I was walking back to Faye when someone bumped into me. She apologized and told me she was in a rush since the awarding was about to start. I got a look at her face and it was my sister Neko.

I hugged her immediately and told her how much I missed her. She pulled away confused and told me she didn't know me. I told her I was her sister Yoko. She said her sister died when she was still little, she then apologized again and went to the front cos like what she said. The awarding is about to start and she needs to work.

I walk faster to get to Faye. She asked me what took me so long and I just told her that there's a line at the restroom. She just smiled and held my hand. We are waiting for the announcement and I can tell Faye is confident about this. She excludes this dominating aura that attracts everyone.

After the speech of the speaker. They announce my wife's name and everyone starts clapping. She stood up and a spotlight pointed at her. She walked to the stage with confidence and accepted the award that the speaker said earlier.

Faye gave her speech and she thanked everyone who helped her achieve then she added that me and her daughter are her inspiration in doing such good work. I cried when she talked about me and Cy. She went back and wiped my tears. I congratulated and thanked her for all the things she had said and done for our family. She gave me a peck and told me that she'd do everything for me, Cy, and our future baby.
