ALEXIA-
I could have done another style, one that was more suited to a wedding but this was not my special day, it was his. Walking through the wardrobe I saw an item wrapped in black plastic that had to of been the dress, I took a look at it and was in awe at its beauty. The dress was tight-fitting at the top with a beautiful v-line cut that would hug my busty cleavage perfectly. I wondered how they got my sizing correctly because the dress looked like it was made for me. Small diamonds cascaded down the length of the dress in delicately intricate patterns that added just enough glamour to make it pop. The bottom of the dress was more densely covered in jewels, the fabric began to spew out to embody the princess essence of the dress, the train had to of been at least 2 metres and cascaded beautifully with rose gold and diamonds being the centrepiece ore for this dress.
What a shame such a demonstration of purity was being wasted with such sin.
*Knock knock
"Come in!" The staff who I presumed were here to decorate me came through the door, there were three females, all dressed the part. "Hello, Alexia we are here to set you up for the wedding, do you have any preferences?"
"Yeah, I want my hair to stay straight."
"Sure thing." The woman smiled at me and made her way to the dress.
Well damn, I looked beautiful. I looked at myself from the bathroom mirror, the assistants had left by now and had told me to go downstairs when I was ready. They really did a good job, I looked the part. And now it was time to play it.
I left the room and was greeted by another guard who was probably going to escort me to the car. "Miss Thorne, please follow me to the car." I followed his lead and made my way downstairs. My eyes couldn't help but look for Damian as I traversed through the maze that was this mansion, but he was nowhere to be seen. I don't know why that irritated me as much as it did but alas we had places to be. Bella was waiting for me at the door and I guessed that she would be accompanying me to the car whip we made our way to the venue.
"You look beautiful." She said to me. She looked lovely as well, she was wearing an elegant pink dress that suited her skin perfectly. "Thank you, so do you." She smiled in response and turned to leave through the door. When I got outside I was met with a crowd that I did not expect. Paparazzi flooded the gardens of the estate, cameras were flashing from all directions and I couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed. I had to put on my best face for this, not only was he a very notable man in the criminal world he also had business that kept him in the good books of the public eye. He was a hotshot millionaire to most, but not even that much money could compare to the wealth that the drug empire created, and what it needed to be maintained.
To everyone else they were the perfect family, to everyone that was close enough they were two wrong decisions away from falling apart.
I smiled for the cameras anyway and made my way to the car, that was before his brother approached me. "Hi, Alexia i'm not sure we've met before I came to introduce myself." He put on his brightest smile as he spoke. I wasn't sure of what he thought of me right now but I was certain that he was simply not this happy to see me. Especially after the chaos I created that he saw for himself. I spoke nicely anyway, didn't want any more unnecessary trouble with the in-laws. "Hey, Zidann was it?"
"Yes that's me, your new brother in law, so happy to meet you." He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. I mean after shooting his brother and killing two of their men I wasn't exactly surprised. "Nice to meet you too." What was actually a very tense interaction would appear to the media to be no more than a friendly catch up before the wedding.
The blacked-out Mercedes were waiting for the rest of us to arrive before they took off. The guard that was with me directed me to the car that was in the middle of the surrounding ones, I stepped in gracefully and to my utmost surprise it was Damian who was in the seat next to me. We sat in silence for about 30 seconds although it felt like hours before one of us spoke. "Alexia." A formal greeting was all he spoke as the car began to drive. "Damian." I gave the same nod of respect before adjusting myself and this wedding dress in the seat that I was on. I tried my best to ignore the heart palpitations that threatened to swallow me whole but it was to no use, I was an adrenaline-filled shaky mess sitting next to him and I didn't know why.
It was obvious that out of everyone that I would ever have the privilege of meeting, he was the worthiest opponent, maybe that explained why I felt the pressure of one hundred tons every time I was in his presence.
It was weird but even as I tried to look out of the window and focus on the journey ahead his aura radiated, suffocating me. A feeling I could only describe as being closest to fear and respect simultaneously, his assertion rolled off him in waves of dominance. His power screamed with every word he spoke.
"You look beautiful today." The sound of his voice caught me off guard and I had to make an active attempt not to show my shaky nerves in response to him. "Thank you." I kept it short and snappy, mostly because I didn't know what else to do. The last time I had spoken to him after our little arrangement he had left me to be tortured in the basement, I didn't know what he thought of me now that I killed two of his people. They very well could have been close family friends, and it all just fuelled the traction that burned between us even more. "I saw what happened after I left you down there."
"Oh, okay." Okay, this time I didn't mean to keep it that short but I really didn't know how to respond to that. "I would've done the same, they are lesser men. Didn't realise the gravity of such an act, haven't experienced true pain." I took a quick second to myself to glance at him, he was still staring out of the right-hand window while he spoke to me. One hand caressing his beard and the sun shining on his face in just the way that highlighted his strong jawline and facial structure, he was a very beautiful man I'd give him that.
"I see, I didn't take it personally though, it's fair game, there are no rules to torture." It was true. That wasn't to dismiss what I had felt when he did what he did but I definitely couldn't hate him for it. "I apologise anyway, that is not how we run things."
"Thank you." Was all I was able to muster up in my state of shock. He apologised, I didn't know he had it in him, maybe this was the heart that Bella was talking about. "I met your sister, she's lovely."
"Yeah, she is. Do you have any siblings?" I debated withholding that part of me just for the sake of it but if one of us was going to try to make this bad situation better it was going to be me so I took one for the team and answered. "Yes I have a brother, do not ask of him do not speak of him." He wouldn't find out anything on him anyway, he was too private for that.
"Why are you so secretive?" A silly question
"Because you would have killed me if I wasn't."
He chuckled slightly at my brassiness, "Fair enough." Aside from that little interaction the rest of the car ride was silent. It took about an hour for us to get to the venue but it was worth the wait.
"It's not as crowded as I thought it was going to be," I said to him.
"As long as they saw you on the estate in the wedding dress another big appearance isn't needed."
"Ah, makes sense." The venue was an eccentric outside garden that led to a hall in the distance, I assumed that was for the after-party. Although the space appeared to be open I did not doubt that there were layers upon layers of security for the family.
