ALEXIA-

"Your brother misses you a lot as well, told me to pass on the message." He doesn't even know me.

"Tell him I miss him too, so much." Ew.

"I will, that was it for now. I'll call you back sometime in the next couple of days."

We said our goodbyes and that was that. I was more than exhausted at this point, I would tell Damian about the encounter in the morning. Aside from that I was off to sleep.

I was woken up to kisses being planted all over my forehead, I was still tired and groggy but such a warm welcome into the world did help. "Baby." He mumbled against me. "Damian," I mumbled back tiredly.

"We have to wake up, we have somewhere to be ." Yeah, he did say that we had things to do today. "Where are we going?"

After I had a shower, Damian prepared for our little trip and left me to change into the garments that were left out. He still didn't tell me where we were going but I got the gist from the attire. There were masquerade masks laid out on the bed, paired with beautiful ball gowns that set the picture for what tonight was going to be. As much as I was excited for an excuse to dress up, I knew that work had to be involved.

There were so many options I didn't know what to choose from. The blue gown had a beautiful v-neckline with tiny jewels scattered along it, it gave a majestic feel but didn't look tacky or too overpowering. The same diamonds flew sparsely along the peplum of the dress. Stopping where the fabric stopped right at the ankle. As much as I liked it and the other red dress it was the gold piece that caught my eye. I knew I had to try it on.

It was a mermaid-style dress, its neckline being a very deep v-cut with diamonds cut, and seamed in intricate styles all along it. It was sleeveless, the thin fabric coated with a thick layer of canary diamonds being the only sleeve-like piece on the dress.

It was beautiful.

The dress had a hidden corset that synched in my waist in the most perfect way. Giving me an hourglass figure to top the one I already had. I was already curvy, so the extra emphasis on my hips made me look even more like Jessica Rabbit.

The peplum of the dress began just above my knees. If you thought the top was extravagant then the bottom was just otherworldly. It had diamonds and gold decorations that ran all along it. Creating a big, simple rose as its centrepiece. It definitely didn't look childish though, it was almost hidden amongst the rest of the jewels. Only revealing itself when you took the time to admire the intricacies of the dress as a whole.

It suited my skin colour perfectly. I absolutely loved it. The masquerade mask that came with it, matched it perfectly. It covered the space around my eyes, some of my cheeks and nose. The rest of my face was partially covered by the gold and diamonds that hung from it in a delicately placed row.

I called for the assistants who would help me stick the mask on and tighten the corset and dress for me. They did a perfect job and by the time they were finished, I looked like I came straight out of the renaissance. They styled my hair in a beautiful half up half down up-do and I looked beautiful. My nails and heels matched the handbag I wore, you could tell that this whole piece was thoughtfully put together.

"You look stunning baby." I gasped as I heard his voice, I didn't hear him enter the room until he spoke. "Thank you." I was bashful towards the way he spoke to me, shyness took over me as he glazed his eyes along my body.

It wasn't like he hadn't seen me before, he most definitely had but the way he looked at me while I was fully clothed and looked like a princess made me gush with joy.

He stood before me, wearing a black and gold Armani suit. The champagne tapered on the collar of the blazer, the seams and the pocket of the piece. His pants were the same, they were oblique with a touch of gold that added the luxury to luxurious. "You look magnificent."

"Thank you, baby." He spoke while still admiring my attire. "I think we matched by accident, I came to see what you were wearing."

"What a beautiful coincidence," I said to him.

"What a beautiful coincidence indeed." He kissed my lips.

Me and Damian were the only ones who were gonna be attending the ball. We were in the backseats of the limousine, our driver was at the front with a seal behind him for privacy. He only let it down when we needed to talk to him because for now, we had to discuss what was happening. He gave me the debrief of what I had to do. I was concealed enough that no one would know who I was. My mission for today was to take out the right-hand man of Carlson Beckett, the head of the Irish. After what had happened before we were able to move the drugs straight out of Wisconsin. It was a very large stock and we made about 300 million for the whole thing.

That didn't even touch the surface of what we needed to make this place great again but it was for sure a great fucking start. We didn't know if they had put the pieces together as to who was responsible for his brother's death but, there was a good possibility that they would think it was any one of their old or new-time enemies that took out the druggie out of the family.

If they did think it was us then they had a lot of planning to do. They would have to first figure out where the money for all this came from, I was the clear variable in that equation but that wasn't an issue. They would also have to get a gist for how put together the place was, how many men we still had left and how well they were coping with all that had happened. But, there was a new leaf for the Thorne's and I prided myself on being the centre of it.

I had a needle, it contained a mixture of arsenic and belladonna that would take him out in about five minutes.

We had to take out the Irish and we had to do it fast, out of the Triad and them they were most definitely the easiest to control out of the two. Not that any of this would be a breeze though.

U had to get close to him somehow, I had a sleeve that was identical to my skin. Beneath was the needle and its contents. I aimed to do it all during one of the dances that were planned to happen. It should be easy but like all things life, they had a way of getting complicated. "Here's a better photo of him." Unlike most of the men of the Irish, he had tanned skin and ethnic features. I assumed he wasn't of Irish nationality from looking at him. He was a beast, at 6' foot tall with a very built frame I could tell that he was a skilled fighter.

"He's not Irish?" I asked Damian.

"No, but he might as well be. He's one of them in every right."

"Is there any way he would know what we have planned?" He pondered on the thought for a second.

"I don't think so, even if by some chance he did, he wouldn't know who you are." That made sense.

"Would he be able to feel the needle and retreat before it's too late?"

"No, even if you got half of the contents in his system he would die. These are grade-A needles, they can't be felt."

"Okay good." I took a deep breath, my nerves were running high and my apprehension was at its peak. But I knew that this had to be done.

"You'll be okay. But remember what I said, if anything doesn't feel right then back out. I promise you a gut feeling is more than enough reason to back out. There's always another opportunity."

"I understand." It was true, your subconscious picks up on things that you don't even realise. There was no point in ignoring your body's internal warning system, it was there for a reason after all.
