ALEXIA-

"Okay good." I took a deep breath, my nerves were running high and my apprehension was at its peak. But I knew that this had to be done.

"You'll be okay. But remember what I said, if anything doesn't feel right then back out. I promise you a gut feeling is more than enough reason to back out. There's always another opportunity."

"I understand." It was true, your subconscious picks up on things that you don't even realise. There was no point in ignoring your body's internal warning system, it was there for a reason after all.

Paparazzi flashed as we entered the building, thankfully it wasn't like the usual way they bombarded us. They didn't know who we were after all, but they knew we were all important in some way shape or form.

There were many people here, more than at our wedding and at the charity event. I now realised how very concealed we were because there were about three groups of women who matched outfits and hairstyles and at least 50 who looked similar unintentionally.

The men were practically copy and paste, all wearing some combination of a mask and a suit of a particular colour. But there were only so many colours to choose from.

The inside of the building was just as striking as the outside. Its antique nature being the pinnacle of its beauty. As much as the castle-like space enticed me, the sheer size of it overwhelmed me. There were corners and hallways that were perfect for crimes.

I couldn't scope out the whole scenery and it bothered me, and I knew it bothered him as well.

As soon as I got the chance to I looked for my target. It would be hard but there were multiple people who were also looking for me and as soon as they got the word they would tell me.

Damian wanted me to stay with him the whole night until the dances, I thought that was silly because if I didn't get the opportunity to get him during it then it was over.

If I was going to do this I would do it properly.

"Hey, how are ya man." Some man who I assumed did business with Damian was having small talk with him. He didn't have the same apprehension that any made man would have when talking to another so it definitely had to be the legal kind.

As much as I was scared too and wanted to uphold his warnings about staying with him I knew what I had to do.

I took the opportunity to sneak off and 'network' with the others. I stayed to myself in the other room for a minute while Damian completely lost track of me. The only people that were aware of who I was were our men. I was almost certain that I could see Bishop in the corner of the room. It would make sense because his only job for today was to keep track of us, he would never be unaware of his surroundings. "Hey beautiful,"

"Sorry, I'm married." A man who I had noticed had been watching me since I had arrived approached me. I quickly waved him off, if I wanted anyone to approach me It would be my target. "Hey, it's Bishop. The name is Killian, I'm almost 90 percent sure that's him in the lavender over there."

I looked towards the man he was describing. I tried my best to be subtle which I think I did perfectly because he wasn't even paying attention to me. "If that's him, I've watched him help countless women who were being bothered by the more...overt romantic Interactions. I'll tell Jacob to bother you for a while. For now, go to the champagne area where he's standing." I did as he said and made my way to where he was. "I love your outfit." A pregnant woman in blue said to me, I loved that interaction because it made my move to the other side of the room even more natural. "Thank you, I love the colour you're wearing." She smiled and thanked me.

"Did you come here alone?" She spoke to me through her covered face. "No, I came with my husband, he's doing boring business stuff, I came here to dance." She chuckled at my complaint. "Yeah I get you, it's a party for a reason am I right?" I laughed and nodded in response.

"Excuse me madam, you look rather beautiful today. That dress makes your figure more voluptuous than my wildest dreams."

"Thank you but I have a husband."  He looked around and then spoke, "Well he's not here is he?"

"She has a husband, leave her alone." The girl that I was speaking with said to him.

"Well, this conversation does not involve you. I'm just trying to speak to the pretty lady." He looked me up and down as he disgustingly drooled over my body. Damn, he was a good actor.

"Well she doesn't want to speak to you-" Suddenly she looked down, water was leaking down her legs and she was bent over in pain. I knew that she was pregnant but she only looked around 7 months along. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah- I think my water broke. The doctors said this would happen it's okay." She took out her phone and messaged who I assumed was her partner, in an instant, he came rushing into the room with his friends in suits. They carried her out of the room immediately and that was it. "Now that our silly distraction is gone, does your husband really satisfy you in every way?"

"Move from her." That was what it took. The man in the lavender interrupted him, visibly agitated by how Jacob was talking to me. "You have no respect for women, she does not want you."

Visibly looking very affronted Jacob responded to him. "How about you mind your business, I saw them two arguing at the start, he was calling her a bitch and all this shit, now you wanna start shit with me." What a perfect excuse for him to comfort me. "And does that make you any better, no. I'm going to tell you one last time, move." He crossed his arms and that was when his tattoos revealed themselves. He had the same marking as the Irish, and the same markings he had in the picture.

We got him. "Ah fuck you man." And with that, Jacob was gone.

"Are you okay?" He looked down at me with concern as he spoke. "As okay as I can be." I gave an awkward laugh that made it seem like I had hidden feelings I wasn't ready to tell. He looked at me like he could read what I was feeling, like he knew I wasn't okay. "Is there anything I can do to make things better?"

"Keep the rest of the weirdos away from me maybe." I gave another laugh, he chuckled a little out of pity. "That, I can do."

Suddenly a man from behind me barged into me, from the position he pushed me in he sent me straight into Killian.

I wasn't naive enough to take that as an accident, he did that on purpose because right now I was in his arms. "You fucking asshole, watch where you're going!" This was my moment, while I was a damsel in distress I took the opportunity to inject him with the needle.

He was so caught up with the guy who pushed me that he didn't even notice what I did.

Right on queue, they announced that the dances were starting. "I'm sorry, I have to go back to my husband now."

"Okay, you gonna be okay?" I nodded.

"Thank you for the help today." I gave him one last smile and started to make my way back into the other room. That was before someone stopped me. "Hey sister."
