About "Goals": This is what we call a sestina poem, which is a type of poetry that doesn't rhyme but the end of the lines reuse the same word(s).

It's great to have, for yourself, goals.

It feels rewarding to have them accomplish.

Though a lot of the time, I get desperate.

So much that it causes me to feel miserably.

Mistakes are not an option, I must have that trophy.

There is no reason I should fail.

People feel, a lot of times, that they need to set high-standard goals.

And when they don't meet their expectations, they lack their accomplish.

Humans are creatures prone to feeling desperate.

Often they perform unimaginable acts of false grit, and end up miserably.

They blame, torment themselves for not getting that trophy.

It is never an option to fail.

It's time to eat now, but he's too focused on goals.

Misty-eyed, wrinkle-faced, as he struggles to accomplish.

He hears his dad call to him; take a break, but he's too desperate.

It's raining and dark outside, making him feel more miserably.

He can't stop now; just within reach is the metaphorical trophy.

The way he'd punish himself if he were to fail...

People get too swept-up in their goals.

They're fulfilling to accomplish.

But we must avoid getting too desperate.

With that pressure of expectation, we lose ourselves and feel miserably.

You don't need to always have that trophy.

Breathe. Pick yourself up. It's okay to fail.
