Now the days of one have come, transition sun to haze.
Critters living in the field prepare to turn away.
When all is peace down in the Earth, he comes and cradles all.
Now sleep, dear summer, time has come, succumb to Tober's call.
Time for Tober's wake; He comes unto the Earth.
To bring joys and fears of man, relishing all its worth.
I sing to thee, dear "Pumpkin King"
To you, who gave me birth.
Come, my dear, don't hide away,
The sun is gone today!
But as you roam, you'll soon belong
To him and to his call.
Though he looms so cold and long,
Seems to alarm and creep,
All he wants is to have fun
Before his time is done.
Here comes Tober, to his reign! All hail the "Pumpkin King".
With eyes of purple, orange too
And suit black, green, and blue.
On his chariot of bats, he comes to greet all.
Now, with good cheer! Bring all your peers
To behold Tober's call!
Swiftly on the breeze so grand. The scent of apple crisp.
Apple cider in his hand. Some candy for his trip.
Mischievous spirit, like a child. Playful, yet so kind.
He loves to laugh, and play, and smile. Some pranks from him you'll find.
"One thing left, before I go. Before it's time for snow,
Let's have some fun.
Play tricks and run.
On Hallow's Eve today!
Have some treats; they're all on me.
Play mischief, and you'll see
Life's no fun without tricks and treats."
This is Tober's call.
At last, dear Tober fleets away.
His time has come to rest.
If you ever feel astray, look up,
You'll see him to the west.
"I'll come again someday.
Just listen for my call."
Short description about Tober: Tober comes only once a year, and he loves having fun once awakened. He'll go around, playing pranks on others for a good laugh. His nickname is the "Pumpkin King" because he wears a jack-o-lantern mask. Despite his deep, booming voice which most are afraid of, Tober's really just a silly, mischievous spirit who loves candy and apple cider. On the day before his departure, he always throws one last "hurrah": Hallow's Eve. Then he'll slumber until next year.
