Shelly stood timid at her place. She had decorated the room perfectly, with birthday stuff. It was her birthday today! She had invited everyone the day prior. There was cake, ice cream, music, and of course, party blowers and hats! She waited for the first toon to arrive.

3 minutes later.

No one was showing up? Shelly had remembered to send out the invitations, right? She looked at the paper stash in the corner. She made so many, there's no way she could've forgotten. No.. She sighed and got filled back up with determination. They were coming, she knew it!

5 minutes passed.

The time was 7:08 they were late. Everyone, was late.

"Well, surely they must be all coming at the same time and had some issues.. Maybe they are getting me lots of gifts! Or– or, a surprise!" She happily told herself.

Time passed again. It was getting late outside. Shelly's eyes dulled. No one was coming. They all forgot. Again. She looked at the melted ice cream, and started tearing up. Putting her face in her palms, someone knocked on her door. "Ah.. Shelly? You there?"

Shelly perked up at the sound. Someone was here? She quickly sniffed, got a tissue to wipe her face clean, and went to the door. Opening it, there was Astro! And only,. Astro.

"Astro! I'm so happy your here!" She smiled. "W.. Where are the others?" She asked, sniffing. Astro looked at her, could tell she had been crying. "Is no one else here? I'd for sure thought I'd be late.." Astro said. Shelly shook her head. He felt bad. They forgot all about Shelly's special day. "Well.. I got you a little something." Using his blue magic, he gave Shelly a blue present, pretty ribbons on it. "I spent most of my time making the box by hand, which is why I'm a bit late,.aha.." He looked to the side. "No, it's quite alright! I love it!" She said, looking at all of the boxes sides and corners.

"But you haven't even seen what's in it yet-"

"Oh! Come in!" She said, moving out of the way, letting Astro in, he walked in, and saw how serious Shelly was about this. Hell, she even snuck in some dino decorations in here. "Wow.. Shelly.. This is,, pretty." He smiled at her, making her blush a bit. "Hehe, Thanks!" She smiled back. "Oh, would you like some ice-cream-" Both Shelly and Astro looked at the melted mess, aka soup, in the bowl. "I'll get that later.. Uhm, how about some cake?" She pointed at your typical dino cake. Vanilla inside,,

"I think I'm going to pass on both, thank you though."

"Ah, more for me then!.. Much.. More, for me..." Shelly's smile slowly turned upside down and her tone got sadder, as she looked at the perfect, untouched round cake. "Hey, cheer up!" Astro said. ".. How about I just take one small slice?" Astro watched as Shelly lit up again. "Yeah!!" She quickly walked towards the table, grabbed the cutting knife and almost cut it, but,

"Wait! Shouldn't we sing happy birthday to the birthday girl first?" Astro said. Shelly just nodded at him. Astro walked closer and sat beside Shelly, and slowly sung the birthday song to her. Shelly closed her eyes and swayed. "Happy birthday.. To.. You!"

He nudged her on her shoulder playfully. Shelly giggled, "Hey wait your forgetting something!" Shelly stood up and walked away, coming back, Astro could see her with a party hat in her hand. Shelly sat next to him again and got on her knees to get a littler higher than him.

(she *is*a bit short.)

She put the hat on Astro. "Awee! You look adorable!" Shelly clasped her hands together. Astro blushed, smiled and looked away. "T-thanks.."

Finally, Shelly picked up the cutting knife and took it to the cake. Cutting herself a medium slice of,

and Astro, a smaller one. She gave him his plate, and took hers. "Enjoy!" She smiled, taking a fork to the cake slice and eating it. She smiled and was in heaven, the cake tasted dearly.

"This is actually pretty good.." Astro said, downing another bite. "I know right?!" She smiled, she already cleared her plate. "Woah?! Sh-shelly?? Already done-?"

"Heh.. Sorry.. I just really wanna know what you got me! Presents timee!" Shelly said enthusiastically. Astro shook his head. Silly shell.

She quickly got up to go to the blue box and came back. She sat beside Astro and slowly unwrapped it, being careful not to rip the ribbon, she wanted to keep the box, and whatever was inside. She took the top off and lo and behold.

"A.. Dino toy?!" It was quite big, also blue with stars on it. She read the tag on it. "Glows in the dark."

Shelly stared at it for a while. "Shelly,.?" Astro said, she didn't respond back. "Do you not like-" Astro looked at her, she was crying. "Ah..Is it that bad-, I'm sor-"

"I love it." Shelly said. "Hu-"

"I love it!! Thank you so much, Astro!!" Shelly moved and hugged tightly, some of her tears getting on his blanket. "Your welcome.." He said, unable to hug back. "Shelly- this is a bit tight-" Astro cougheed., "Oh! Sorry!" She giggled, sniffing and wiping her tears. "Again, Thank you so much for coming.. You don't know how much this means to me."

"Hey, it's quite alright!" He smiled. Shelly leaned on Astros shoulder and just rested, closing her eyes and clutching the Dino toy in her arms. Astro, letting her. Its been a rough day for Shelly. He looked around the room again. She did all of this by herself? Just for no one else to see. He sighed, feeling bad. Eventually, Shelly had dozed off. Astro noticed right away, and let her rest for a couple more minutes, almost wanting to close his eyes, but this was an uncomfortable position, so he stood up carefully, mklaking sure to not wake her. He took off his blanket for a moment to make use of his arms, picking up Shelly and taking her to her room. Opening the door, he walked over to her bed and set her on it. Putting covers over her. He watched as Shelly laid peacefully on her pillow, still not letting go of the silly toy. He smiled before giving her a nice dream. Her expression changing cheery. He left her room, closing the door slowly and going to put the food up, say doing a favor, before finally leaving her room.

The end! (Jk actually no one forgot her birthday this was all just a nightmare and when she woke up from it everyone surprised her with gifts! source: trust me bro)
