SAM

Sam enters the dark home softly lit up by the candles decorating the inside foyer and living room. It's quite spacious, he observes as his eyes rove over the decor and equally just as dark wallpaper. Jennifer awkwardly waddles around us, bags in our hands whilst we stand by the door huddled together.
"Johnny!" That is the first time Sam has heard Jen yell, it's a little unnerving. Jennifer has been a real sport hosting Sam and his friends. He's truly grateful for such a kind-hearted new friend, and Jennifer seems like a down-to-earth kinda gal. The whole sha-bang. The epitome of tranquility. He sets his bag down gently as they all wait as a collective for this johnny character to arrive.

Low-and-behold, a dark haired fellow dressed in inky-clothes and rich eye-liner steps out from a side room branching off behind the winding staircase. Above it, is the intricate terrace. Johnny comes forward as if he'd just woken up. Who sleeps during the day? Who is he kidding, Sam finds himself resting or napping midday whenever he's lost a good amount of sleep the prior night.
"Hey.. These are too many new people at once Jenny," Johnny comes up to hug Jen, and Sam manages a wide smile at the fond nickname. The closeness is nice as they exchange hello's and quirky banter regarding.. Sam thinks they're talking about the last time they met up. Without Colby knowing. He's beginning to understand who're the adults around here.

The ghost hunter is starting to get a little antsy. Sam really wants to explore the place. The furniture, from what he can spy, is old but well loved and taken care of. The colors are still dark, except for the white-grand-piano tucked below the bordered painting. Sam frowns as he creeps behind Corey who's standing in front of him, and the wall. The blonde wiggles and maneuver's in what little room he has.

He gasps softly upon seeing the slicked hair, broad stature, and dark skin ringing clear in his mind. This is definitely Colby, right? Sam tightens his hold on his phone before bringing it up to his face. It's the only surface area exposing the small shadows in the room from its brightly-lit screen.

He unlocks it and snaps a picture without the light, and he slowly turns his head to see if anyone caught him. Everyone is staring at him. Supposedly, suddenly, much more intrigued by Sam's musings than finding their rooms!

"ah.. just dont post that on the internet." Johnny wiggles a finger pointed at Sam, openly acknowledging that Sam is a social media stranger in his friends house. Jake is chuckling at Corey's side, joking about how cute their friend is. Tara makes it a point to stop the goofing off for a tour of the place. Johnny is hesitant to take up the job, but Jennifer encourages him to earnestly express his interest in his friend's abode.
"So, the kitchen is behind the front-room—well, the dining room is right beside it. Behind that, is uh.. the balcony. A small porch thingy.." Johnny guides Sam's friends up the stairs, talking about the history, before Colby moved in. "I guess you guys can explore when we're done..?"

"Yea, some crazy lady owned the place, Jen's pretty good with warding off funky spirits, so she did a little-voodoo and made the place less spooky." Sam follows the group up the stairs and it gives him a second to admire the many photos and paintings hanging on the wall. There's no one to shove at him to keep up or to question his "tardiness".

Sam unlocks his phone again to check if he got any messages from Colby. Maybe he's being too obsessive? Like, the guy will message him when he feels like it. Sam knows Colby isn't obligated to text him. His frown disappears short after when the photograph of wolves catches his attention mounted on the wall.
