I just wanted to address, that both Sam and Colby are human. They're not devoid of emotions, and aren't just social-media entertainers/personalities/"entities".
Also,
None of these scenes in this story are real. They've been created by me, and some scenes are similarly captured to true events, but otherwise the relationships in this story are False or depicted incorrectly! :)

Warning(s):

Fact checks!
(This is primarily a reminder for myself lol)
The witches forest is located in California, Los Angeles!

I really like writing in Sam's POV..

SAM

Sam slowly removes the backpack strap now hanging limp by his left hip. He's still concentrating on Colby, the same person he's been thinking about, and texting the last two days.

The same memory of Colby's darkened eyes coming into view above the light emitting the basement room overcasting a corner of the room, back at the Stanley hotel, keeps replaying in his head.

Things were getting interesting, and Sam captured realistic footage about the dark entities residing in the basement. The lights were flickering, and then the door swung open. It all stops once Colby steps into the room. The blonde is still perplexed why Colby managed to scale across the snowy field, with only a t-shirt, and having the sudden need to be in a dark basement. Did he want to speak to the spirits alone?
Sam intakes a sharp breath, tempted to ignore the questions, just recalling the sharp and delicate shadows on Colby's face. Now that he sees his sudden fascination standing before him Sam's hesitant to start a conversation.

He prefers the intense eye contact, Sam prays he doesn't offend Colby when his eyes start to crinkle from the very small smile trying to overtake his self-control.

"am—Sam! Hello, come on man, let's sit. Jen's, yo, Jennifer! You don't mind if I call you Jennifer?" Corey startles his friend from his stupor, unbeknownst to Corey the sudden change in temperament goes unnoticed.
Colby catches the blonde's gaze, and Sam anxiously rubs his hands on his pants as he licks his lips. He hopes neither Corey nor the rest of his friends catch his nervous ticks. But he's standing right here—how can Sam not?
Corey frees his arm from around Sam's shoulder after interrupting the duo. Not that Sam will admit there was anything manifesting — between them..

Colby catches him just after they realize Corey might've been a little rough. He already felt unsteady before leaving the house. The anxiety amplifies because Sam stands face-to-face with said cause. and he's touching me!

Sam's "checks" how Jennifer and his friends are fairing, and the chatter is still loud. Led by Tara, who's known for her likeness talking with new people. He'll have to thank her later. It's Completely washing out his beating heart, and his nervous energy, probably. How is Colby fairing? Does this guy even feel something for him? He's been standing there perfectly still during Sam's inner monologue!

The touch on his elbow is convincing his maddened heart beating in his ribcage. Sam grows the courage to turn his arm to leave it to rest on Colby's own forearm.

"..How was the drive?" Sam smiles when he hears the question leave Colby's mouth, but he's more pleased by the fingers pressing further into his covered arm. His face feels suddenly, very warm..
He can hear Jake's sudden cough turn into a hum, but Sam fails to shy away. He rather answer Colby—"it was ok, one hour is a breeze, There's a lot of us to begin with.. is that..?"

Sam tries to contain the level of surprise on his face when Colby reaches for his other arm, in quick reassurance that the extra company is not unwelcome.
"I have spare guest rooms!.. big family, and all," Colby's laughter is infectious, and Sam almost gets lost in a small bit of information about Colby's mysterious family that visits from time to time, and his friend currently staying over for the week.

"Sam, ...and Colby right?" Jake's standing behind Colby as he timidly peeks over the stranger's shoulder, hoarding all of Sam's attention. The senior investigator dislikes the possibilities this conversation will lead too.

"Colby! This is Jake, Jake.." Sam evenly stares down his friend, "this is Colby.. the guy I was telling you about, who scared the living daylights out of us, at the Stanley." Sam repositions himself at Joe's front to separate him and Colby. The blonde acknowledges the feather like touches as Colby's finger retreat from their place on his forearms. He retraces the fading sensation for a second too long because he catches Jake staring.

"To a pleasure, Sam's not known for being scared, how'd you spook our cute blonde little friend here?" Jake's smile is sinister as he attempts to corner Colby, and Sam can't help but watch. Sam's not hopeless to romance.

Colby blinks at Jake whose hair is teased, and that causes the vampire to smile. It's refreshing for Colby to witness the gothic-rock aesthetic worn. His friend Mike, a vampire, dabbles in music. Whenever he joins the coven for a roadtrip, Colby doesn't have to be persuaded to check what's hot.
   "What's funny?"
"Uh—," a curve ball is sent Colby's way,
"Nothing, I just love your style, a friend of mine who curates music creates beats I fuck with." Colby gestures to the emo and gothic touches on Jake's person.

Sam presses his lips into a thin line as he observes the conversation. Everyone else must've tuned it at the same time because it's gone quiet. For a moment, the blonde was worried Jake would've had it out for Colby.
"Sick brother!" Everyone visibly deflated in their seats, all aware Jake is harmless for the moment. Except Jennifer, Sam takes in the tension in her knuckles and the way she bites down on the inside of her cheek. She's not looking at Jake, but Colby. Was he secretly a fighter or something?
Jake is taller than Colby but normally Jake is harmless while friends meet new people or fans.

Sam did vocal his somewhat 'unnoticeable-infatuation' with a certain dark-haired medium.
"Maybe if we all survive the next couple nights, we can come back to check it out!" Obviously it's a joke, and Colby's evident chuckling eases the rest of the group. Sam immediately catches how quick the room changes. Tara is shuffling on his phone, Corey is chatting Jake's ear now as he sits between Colby and Corey.

Jennifer's eyes are looking up as they regard the blonde. Her mug is close to her lips as she swallows a generous gulp. Sam hopes whatever Jake just jinxed does not fall on him or the group. He readily sits his bag by the chair and glides right into the seat next to Colby.

"Shall we go over the plan then?" Everyone stops what they're doing to focus on the witch. "First, I want to sage all of you, now and before you leave."

There's a collective hush before Corey readily stands up, hand up and bug-eyed.
"Yes, please! Brother!"

Comments, votes and recommendations are welcome here! :)

It helps the story a lot with reaching other audiences—I hope so!

Reallyyyy recently I found out the Satori & Cody ghost-communicating was a scam, which, we all knew deep down couldn't have been true.. right?;;;
I want to make them the anti-protagonist for their story! I had someone in mind, but I have zero heartfelt-remorse. It's not going to be active discrimination or bias when I portray them in the story!

Pay attention to the "fight-scene"!
