"SO YOU JUST LEFT?" sadie asked, watching aurora pace anxiously around the studio. the early morning light streamed through the large windows, casting a warm glow that contrasted with the whirlwind of thoughts in aurora's mind.

"yeah, fortunately for me, chan was still asleep," aurora replied, a mix of embarrassment and confusion flooding her.

"wouldn't he be a bit confused about your whereabouts? he's probably going to wake up thinking you've ditched him," sadie pointed out, tilting her head slightly, her red hair catching the light.

"i left him a note explaining where i've gone. hopefully, he'll still be there when i get back because we've got to talk about what happened last night," aurora said, her heart racing at the thought.

"i still can't believe you guys kissed," sadie squealed, her excitement palpable. "so, does this mean you two are exclusive now?"

aurora shook her head. "no." she waved a hand dismissively. "we were drunk, so i doubt he even knows it happened."

"well, if you remember, who's to say he won't?" sadie gave her a knowing look, raising an eyebrow.

aurora sighed heavily, plopping down on the couch. "i can't do this anymore," she groaned, burying her face in her hands.

"do what?" sadie asked, genuinely confused.

"pretend like everything's normal when i know it's not. i can't even be around him without wanting to tear his clothes off." aurora couldn't help but let out a small laugh despite her turmoil.

sadie chuckled softly, moving to sit beside her. "you've got the feels."

"big time." aurora managed a small smile. "he's just so perfect. he's everything i look for in a guy. but i'm kind of scared to fall in love again."

sadie nodded, understanding the weight of aurora's words. after everything that happened between aurora and joshua, the scars still lingered, making it hard for her to open her heart fully. sadie squeezed her hand reassuringly. "getting into a relationship after a messy past is always a scary situation, but i wholeheartedly believe it's time you let go of that fear and move forward with your life. chan is the perfect guy for you, rory. you deserve nothing but immense happiness and love, and he's the right person for that."

aurora knew sadie was right, but doubt still crept in, twisting in the pit of her stomach. someone like her didn't deserve someone like chan. he was too good for her. "i can't help but feel he deserves someone better. someone who won't end up breaking his heart."

"you and i both know that won't happen," sadie replied, resting her head against aurora's shoulder.

"you can't possibly know that." aurora chuckled half-heartedly.
