CHAN'S HEART RACED AS HE CHECKED HIS REFLECTION ONE LAST TIME, nerves bubbling beneath his excitement. it was his first official date with aurora, and he wanted everything to be perfect. the backyard of the penthouse had been transformed into a romantic picnic setting, thanks to the help of the other members, who had all pitched in to make sure this was a date to remember. lee know had even offered to prepare all the food, carefully crafting an assortment of dishes to match the intimate, cozy vibe.
as chan stepped outside, he saw aurora waiting by the blanket spread on the grass. his breath caught when he saw her—she looked beautiful, her features softened by the gentle glow of the setting sun. her smile lit up as she caught sight of him approaching.
"hey," she greeted, her voice warm and bright.
"hey," chan replied, feeling a little shy under her gaze. he sat down beside her on the blanket, offering a sheepish smile. "you look...so beautiful."
aurora blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "thank you. this is all so beautiful, chan. did you do this?"
he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "i had some help. the guys wanted to make sure it was special for us...for you."
she looked around at the setup—a blanket adorned with candles and fairy lights, surrounded by small bouquets of flowers carefully placed around them. aurora took in every detail, her gaze soft with admiration. "well, tell them i said thank you. this is perfect."
chan smiled as he opened the basket, serving the food lee know had prepared. they started with small bites, falling into easy conversation as they shared stories, laughter, and favorite memories. aurora's laughter rang out, each soft sound pulling him in further, and chan found himself hanging on every word, captivated by the joy and warmth she radiated.
at one point, as they finished a round of snacks, he let his gaze linger a little too long on her, drawn in by the way the light danced across her features. she was smiling, and he couldn't help but take in every detail—the curve of her lips, the way her laughter made her eyes crinkle, the soft sweep of her hair that framed her face perfectly.
his gaze wandered subtly, tracing her silhouette, taking in the delicate line of her collarbone, the graceful way she moved, and the quiet confidence that radiated from her. for a moment, he couldn't look away, utterly lost in how beautiful she looked, every glance making him feel more drawn to her than he thought possible.
when he finally tore his eyes away, he saw aurora watching him with a shy smile, her cheeks tinged with a blush that made his heart race even faster.
"i've... i've really wanted this for a long time," he admitted, his voice soft as he gathered the courage to look into her eyes. "just to be here with you, like this."
