AFTER THE EXCITEMENT OF THEIR PERFORMANCE AND INTERVIEW EARLIER THAT NIGHT, aurora and chan made their way to her childhood home in new york. chan had met her parents a few times before but had never been to this particular house, and he couldn't help but feel a little nervous. meeting someone's family always stirred up excitement, and this was no different.

as they approached the front door, aurora gave him a reassuring smile. "i know this is your first time here, but my family's really laid-back. they're super welcoming. don't worry, you'll be fine."

chan chuckled, squeezing her hand. "i'm sure i will. just a little nervous about meeting your sisters."

aurora laughed softly. "don't worry, they'll love you."

before chan could say anything else, the door swung open, and ryan, greeted them with his usual wide grin. "there they are!" he exclaimed, arms open for a hug. "aurora! chris! it's so good to see you both."

chan smiled, stepping forward to shake Ryan's hand. "good to see you again, ryan. thanks for having me over."

ryan grinned and pulled him into a friendly hug. "of course! you're always welcome here."

after their warm greetings, they stepped inside, where blake was waiting. she greeted them both with a warm smile and pulled them into a hug. "aurora! chris! it's so good to see you again," blake said. "how was the interview?"

"it went really well!" aurora replied, smiling. "we had a lot of fun."

blake nodded and glanced at chan. "it's good to have you here. dinner's ready, so you two go ahead and get settled in, and we'll call you when it's time to eat."

aurora smiled gratefully. "thanks, mom."

they made their way through the house, which was filled with a cozy atmosphere and decorated with family photos. the walls held years of memories, and chan couldn't help but notice how comfortable it felt. He could see how much this home meant to aurora.

just as they entered the living room, the sound of running footsteps echoed from the stairs. a moment later, aurora's nine-year-old sister, james, appeared at the top of the staircase, her face lighting up when she saw her.

"rory!" she yelled, excitedly rushing down the stairs toward her older sister.

aurora opened her arms to catch her in a tight hug. "i missed you, little one," she said, laughing as she picked her up and spun her around.

james grinned widely. "i missed you too! how is atlanta?"

"it's great! i've got lots of stories to tell you," aurora said, setting james down. "how's school going?"
