Chapter 13
Hunter's POV
The night was not different at all. I'm still tied in bed, staring at the ceiling. I watched the light despite it being the trigger to the memories. This is what my doctor wanted me to master when I was young, when the trauma was just a few years ago. I have to watch the light without remembering the memories. I should look at it without letting the fear in.
I heard the door opened. Hindi ako nag-abalang lumingon. I stared at the light. For a moment, I thought it flickered.
I felt a movement against my wrist. I moved my head to watch a guard unlocking my cuffs. He didn't look familiar. He's not one of them. I massage my wrist.
He bowed slightly.
He handed me some clothes. Hindi ako nagsalita at tinanggap iyon. Nagpalit ako ng damit. Isang black slacks at white na turtle neck. I messed my hair a little bit letting some strands to cover my eyes.
The hallway is empty.
I can't remember his face kaya sigurado akong hindi si Tri ang nagpadala sa kaniya rito and knowing Tri, he would rather have me here than outside. This won't stop me.
"Who sent you here?" I ask quitely when we entered the elevator. Wala parin kaming nakakasalubong na tao.
Sinulyapan niya lamang ako at hindi na nagsalita. I studied his physique. He look like one of Agosto's men. Kung nakarating na kay Agosto ang balita na nandito ako, he'll move heaven and hell just to get me out of here. He can't afford to lose me with this agents.
The elevator opened at the second basement. It was dark and empty.
She watched him for a second before her eyes landed on me.
"What are you doing?" She asked the man I was with.
She walked toward us. Slowly and carefully. I watched the man in front of me reach for the gun behind him as she neared.
"Raise you hands where I can see them." She said as she pulled her gun and pointed it at us. Nagtaas ako ng kamay. She glanced at me but I noticed that she's more bothered with the man I was with.
"You'll not going to win against us, agent." The man said. His voice familiar, I've heard it before and remember that he's Agosto's former right hand. Ako ang pumalit sa kaniya sa pwesto and I know he's not that happy.
Hinawakan niya ang kaniyang baril. Sophie's might not be aware of that. His hand tightened against it and when he moved to pull it, I immediately tried to kick it out of his hands. Though I failed. He wasn't aiming a shot at Sophie.
The impact of the bullet almost makes me stumble. Nagulat ako dahil hindi ko naisip na nandito siya para tapusin ako and not the other way around.
He smirked. Sophie was aiming her gun at us but she wasn't able to pull a shot. Nakita ko rin ang gulat niya. I felt like she's going to pull the trigger but the man before me knows it too. Hinila niya ako at iniharang sa sarili. A gunshot echoed in the basement. I felt another bullet hit my chest. I saw my white turtleneck stained with blood.
